   Review - Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

   2.0.5 (Jul 23, 2009)

   Loading speed for v2.0.5 has been improved significantly compared to v2.0.0.
   
   The tool itself is great, I am using it for cleaning nvidia Forceware driver remains after driver uninstall. What would be not so nice for many users is probably that it requires .NET 3.5 which is unpopular due to some stuff it installs (e.g. an addon for Firefox you will never need and you can get rid off only with help info from the net). One star less for this requirement.
   
   If you can live with that, it is a reliable helper, even if you only need it when you uninstall drivers (which should not happen too often).

   Review - MyDefrag

   4.0 (Jul 20, 2009)

   This is one of the best defrag programs you can find for free, if you ask me. It is fast, reliable and efficient.
   
   However, the program itself is a bit difficult to handle if you don't know much about the script-based stuff. Using it is much, much easier if you use the version integrated into "MyDefragGUI", available here:

   This version will give you the options you would be missing when using the standard version of MyDefrag, e.g. drive selection, defrag method etc. With MyDefragGUI, the 5 stars are well-earned.

   Review - AntiVir Personal Edition for Windows

   9.0.0.386 (Mar 18, 2009)

   Finally, PE users also get spyware/malware detection features previously only available for Premium product. No problems with this on my XP SP3 system, cannot say anything about how it runs in a Vista environment.
   Note that this will also install "Microsoft Vistual C++ Redistributable v9.0.30729.17" in case you don't already have it. It is required for the program and may not be uninstalled afterwards (previous program version required that libraries as well, so nothing to complain about, really).
   All in all, probably the best scanner you can get for free. If you know how to deactivate the splash screen and the ad window (during update), it's even better.

   Review - Foxit Reader

   3.0 Build 1506 (Mar 11, 2009)

   The best alternative to Adobe Reader you can find. To avoid the nagware stuff they are offering you in the installer version, be sure to get the zipped version. You won't need much more than the mere executable file, anyway. Perfect program for USB drives!

   One of the very few programs you should almost definitely not miss having installed on your Windows system.
