  1. Review - FlashGet

    1.8.4 (May 16, 2007)

Well you know, DHT and EDK does require quite a few connections. FlashGet has nearly become an all in one package, but it is too much bloat for me.

  2. Review - 7-Zip (32-bit)

    4.45 Beta (Apr 17, 2007)

"If -t{Type} switch is not specified, 7-Zip now uses extension of archive to detect the type of archive"

This has me concerned. Previously I have used 7-zip to open files with incorrect extensions. Now it seems like it won't be able to do so.

  3. Review - 7-Zip (32-bit)

    4.44 Alpha 2 (Jan 9, 2007)

    @the artist

I could be wrong, but atm solid 7z archives cannot be updated.

Also, 4 stars because the program is not without it's flaws. Just because it is the best freeware, and debatably one of the best overall, doesn't mean it should get 5 stars. In reality, WinRAR also has some problems that developers have promised me to address but never did. (Unicode in the shell extension being one of them, still not working as of 3.62 more than a year later)

And here's a new one, shell extension doesn't work at all on Vista, and WinRAR does not exit gracefully..

  4. Review - Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)

    Beta 2 (Jun 8, 2006)

It's 13.7 mb because the download manager your using sucks and only supports 32 bit files (4 gb). This file happens to be 4 gb + 13.7 mb. Try a real download manager.

  5. Review - Psi for Windows

    0.11 Beta 2 (Apr 23, 2006)

Psi is great. One of the first Jabber clients I've used because it was the only one to be unicode compliant. However, I hate how you have to authorize everyone, etc, if you forget to turn on auto-authorize before you connect >< Furthermore, since it doesn't import the groups you already have for msn/aim/icq etc, it just makes a huge mess. But this seems to be more a Jabber downfall than a Psi one.

  6. Comment - Former Apple counsel settles options backdating charges

    0.11 Beta 2 (Aug 17, 2008 - 7:42 PM)

What a way to go. Just FYI:

-There is no payroll tax on stock options.
-Stock options if done correctly can be considered capital gains with flat tax of 15%.

  7. Comment - Pakistan removes YouTube ban after fixing bad routing

    0.11 Beta 2 (Feb 27, 2008 - 3:48 AM)

The internet is resilient to a single point of failure. If a router failed in Pakistan, not many people would notice. However, the internet is not resilient to bad routing tables. Actually, it is the ability to automatically route around a bad route that made it so much worse.

  8. Comment - EU Threatens Microsoft With New $446 Million Fine

    0.11 Beta 2 (Nov 15, 2006 - 4:55 PM)

Nor did Microsoft decide that you needed to buy their products. What is your point?

  9. Comment - NEC Sells Packard Bell to Calif. Investor

    0.11 Beta 2 (Sep 10, 2006 - 8:07 AM)

NEC still makes computers, just not in the US.

  10. Comment - Apple Finds iPod Supplier Violated Work Code
