I'd say that with ANY signal leakage into other bands (especially those regulated by FCC) that this would be a no go off the bat. Ever seen how seriously they lay the smack down on cable when they discover a signal leakage? This is why there are techs that just drive around with a signal reader to see if they can find the leakage first. :P

No SATA HDD drivers for XP???? Um... wtf? Try driverguide, com if you really can't seem to find XP drivers for the SATA controller. SATA was built on XP!

The problem is that hardware/software makers do not all have the time and money to create completely NEW drivers and have them verified through M$...

That isn't the issue. It is DVR service. You just don't have to maintain the DVR. They do. Whether they went over copywrite holders or not. The point is this is covered under DVR service.
You can't even say that they are rebroadcasting the movies. Just look at the word it self. BROADcast. They are only re-showing it to those who already paid to see it and paid for the DVR service (which is liscensed) so this couldn't be considered 'rebroadcasting' legally. I guess you'd call it 'narrowcasting' 0.o

Niro has the picture, has it recorded and is watching it for the forth time. He paid to watch it, it's his picture. If you guys tune in, you could get that picture too! Alas, you're on the wrong channels to see the picture.
The RS DVR is cheaper for the company and cheaper for the consumer. This is remote storage of YOUR programming that YOU already paid to watch and YOU recorded to watch whenever YOU want to. Siting the Sony case for recording shows off TV for personal use should be turning on a little light behind those eyes there.
YOU are recording it for YOUR OWN USE. Cablevision is no more providing an on-demand service than the standard DVR many people already own.
Instead of running the cable company's hot, noisy, energy greedy PC for a cable box... you get to run a remote access tool to connect to your own personal storage account on the cable companies maintained servers. They foot the bill, they fix it right then. No more lost shows because you have to swap DVRs because someone sent 10 cold signals to the box and now you have wire insulator dripping from the underbox vents!
Cable commission is pushing for cheaper products that use less energy... where are they on this one? Also, where is the bank account on the judge now?
