I used to work in the car business. It'll tell you that the cars are on something called a "floor plan". The dealer pays a tiny amount of interest every day that the car is on the lot BUT, the dealer doesn't pay for the car until it sells. Used cars and parts are a different story. I also worked in retail and it was similar. If the product doesn't sell, (in retail) the company just ships it back to the manufacturer.
It's basically lying if they record the shipping numbers as sales!! Because it's such a gray area, they can reflect the numbers as "sales". The only truth is when the companies release their quarterly earnings reports. Actual profits don't lie and the reports are regulated by the SEC (if they're a public company). That's why this news is meaningless to investors. It's basically just a form of marketing and it's completely unregulated.

From what I've heard... I don't think they were bad but, they weren't even half of what they were for the original iPhone.
I agree with you. It reminds me of the original Motorolla Razr. It was a nice phone at the time but, it leaves you wanting more. I hadn't heard that Apple hired people to stand in line! I hate how far they go for their marketing practices...
For us here, I think the plan pricing is a big deal. You can get similar function with half of the money on other carriers. Especially with our economy in trouble at the moment, I don't think as many people will run out and buy such an expensive phone and cell plan. It's cool but, not that cool...

I second that! They walk a fine line between deceptive advertising practices and 'accidentally' omitting vital details in their claims.

Bob Johnson (Sprint's Chief Service Officer) just released a statement regarding customer service after the huge outcry they received.

It seems that they've realized their mistake and they've made huge improvements. I can't vouch for recent customer service improvements. I know that when I've gotten an overseas CSR (or someone outsourced that's not directly employed by Sprint), it's always a horrible experience. If you get a US CSR, they generally go out of their way to help you and they usually know what they're talking about.
I really don't have to call CS a lot and I'm happy with my $49 plan that gets me unlimited texts, EVDO Rev. A, sprint to sprint calling, nights and weekends and 1250 minutes.

Again... YOU have no clue about the military. Bragging about someone else's achievements is basically stealing (and being a class A sh**bag).
You ask them. ...and if they actually served in a front-line combat unit (combat MOS and not some pogue) they'll tell you exactly what I told you. ...or they'll lie to you to be polite. ...go on a special operators' forum and ask what it means to be an American.
You're forgetting something; I underwent the toughest things a human (mentally and physically, both through the Army's toughest schools and experiences) can endure so that you can safely sit there and tell me that my contibution didn't mean a damn thing. ...you're the jackass. I'd actually listen to someone who went through it all. You're exactly what's wrong with America today, you think that the world owes you. In fact, you're a worthless part of society because you're just profiting off of other's hard work. ...and then you critcize their work.
People like you are the reason that I'm pro-choice.
