   What exaclty does this browser do that firefox doesnt? I hated the last aol browser, it was so bosy (even bossier than windows!).

   Sounds like you have windows messaging on (nothing to do with browser). Its used for network managers to send messages over the nextwork (they popup in little grey windows). People on the web send ads to this service and that sounds like what you are getting. To turn it off goto services in control panel and services.
