  1. Review - AOL Instant Messenger for Windows

    5.5.3501 Beta (Dec 11, 2003)

To the last poster... did you bother to search the help file for "video"? It says to open a chat window with someone and click on the video button at the bottom. What's so hard about that??

  2. Review - NotSoBig

    1.0 (Aug 27, 2003)

It worked fine for me on Windows 2000. No problems at all. Seems to be a handy tool.

  3. Review - Real Alternative Regular

    1.23 (Aug 14, 2003)

icingdragon, RealAlternative is only there to support RealMedia files. That is why it doesn't support Quicktime files. That's what QuicktimeAlternative is for.

  4. Review - Microsoft Windows CE .NET Emulation Edition

    4.2 (Apr 24, 2003)

More info on my last statement: http://www.microsoft.com...y/downloads/default.asp : Windows CE .NET Emulation Edition
Download the free Windows CE .NET Emulation Edition to start development and testing using a Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional workstation, without additional hardware investment.

  5. Review - cladDVD .NET

    2.98 Beta (Mar 27, 2003)

Does anyone know if this will handle the Star Wars Episode II DVD correctly? Every other program I've tried jumps between the different audio tracks every 10 seconds or so, repeating the video each time. Very annoying.

  6. Comment - AOL Opens E-Mail Access to Third Party Clients

    2.98 Beta (Dec 11, 2003 - 4:23 PM)

AOL needs to realize that their newsreader is even more outdated than their e-mail package. I'm sick of trying to explain to AOL newsgroup users why they can't download 90% of the files they see posted.

  7. Comment - AOL Primes AIM With Video, Multiple Logins

    2.98 Beta (Dec 11, 2003 - 4:16 PM)

Well, to answer my own (and the original poster's) question, nope, it doesn't seem to work with iChat AV. Now THAT was a stupid move.

  8. Comment - AOL Primes AIM With Video, Multiple Logins

    2.98 Beta (Dec 11, 2003 - 4:01 PM)

Neither of your comments have anything to do with the question you replied to. Why didn't you start a new topic for your comments instead of replying to that one? Back to the subject, I certainly hope that AOL's IM video will be compatible with iChat AV, so I can use it instead of Yahoo Messenger to chat with my wife when I'm away. I use a PowerBook and she has a Dell desktop.

  9. Comment - AOL 'Tahiti' Dials Up Without Client

    2.98 Beta (Nov 11, 2003 - 8:11 AM)

Care to offer any proof of this? I've always understood that they used some kind of proprietary protocol, not PPP, which required their software.

  10. Comment - Apple Uncages Mac OS X 'Panther'

    2.98 Beta (Oct 28, 2003 - 2:49 PM)

The upgrade price applies to anyone who bought a new Mac within the last 30 days or so. The article is wrong on that point. This has always been Apple's policy, free (other than shipping) upgrades for anyone purchasing a new computer with an old OS after the release date of the new OS is announced.

Don't be fooled by the small change in version number, Apple has always used a numbering system like this. This isn't merely a service pack or minor upgrade.
