  1. Comment - Explanation for Windows 7 'clear choices' for SKUs murkier than ever

    (Feb 4, 2009 - 7:17 PM)

Baskin Rbbins - 100 flavors. there are only a few things you can be sure of

    1. Drivers will not work with the hardware you already have and not much new hardware will work with it either.
    2. The first rushed to market releases will have more bugs than an anthill
    3. Software developers will adopt existing software for the "flavor" that ships on the largest number of machines - they will not develop new software for the platform - would you?
4 scores of "security improvements" will be built in designed only to minimize the number of calls and emails to MS customer service.
    5. Every conceivable possibility for DRM will be built into the kernel

........ Microsoft always does the exact same thing an always will

  2. Comment - Users to Microsoft: 'Just make Windows faster'

    (Aug 19, 2008 - 9:01 PM)

    I have a dual boot system AMD x2 5000 4GB PC 6400 RAM 350GB SATA.

32 bit home premium vs 32 bit XP SP3.

Same software on both partitions. I use the XP partition because it is faster. Once in awhile I boot to Vista in order to keep it current at Windows update. I keep hoping MS will have an update someday to make Vista faster than XP

  3. Comment - GOP uses Facebook-like site to expose Obama's 'friends'

    (Aug 19, 2008 - 10:08 AM)

Candidates aside - in order to get a clear picture of what is really going on in American politics one must understand neoconservative (s)(ism). Who they are, what their agenda is and what they have done so far and are doing now. The media is pumping liberal vs conservative because it returns good ratings, but it does not explain much when it comes to American political thinking.

  4. Comment - Microsoft claims a consumer 'shift' to 64-bit Vista, but where are the drivers?

    (Jul 31, 2008 - 2:53 PM)

I don't understand why Microsoft doesn't admit Vista was a mistake and come up with a way to compensate people who are stuck with it.

64 bits with no drivers or (64 bit) software is not going to help.

  5. Comment - Microsoft says it needs more Internet Explorer 8 beta testers

    (Jul 30, 2008 - 10:32 PM)

Why work for free on Microsoft's behalf? Why don't they pay beta testers? What favors is Microsoft going to do for us? Let us beta test Windows 7 for free?
