  1. Comment - Vista to Include Speech Recognition

    (Aug 9, 2006 - 10:28 AM)

Last month the Pathologist at the hospital that I work at started dictating cases directly into the laboratory information system (LIS) using a Windows XP, Windows 2000 and a third party application that uses Dragon Naturally Speaking by Nuance Communications (NUAN). I only needed to make minimum changes to the LIS. I was so impressed by the software that I have since purchased stock in Nuance.

Go to: www.nuance.com to learn more about speech recognition.

  4. Comment - Will 'Streamliner' Usher In a Free AOL?

    (Jul 30, 2006 - 7:52 PM)

I downloaded the program and expected more. I currently use AOL just for email and have been doing so for several years. I will use the new program and not American Online to access my mail. I have gmail which is free but prefer AOL email.

As for the deal, I beleive both companies benefited but not equally. I mentioned Google just to emphasize that advertising can generate money as it has for them.

I concur that TWX stock has gone nowhere, but that can change quickly with the right software and leadership. The past performance of a company/stock does not stop me from openning a position in it if I feel they have something new to bring to the table in which case I am willing to wait years for a happy return.

    Thanx for your insight.

When a young kid can Go to www.google.com and search for "nude body" or "sex on myspace" or "xxx" or "big d***" and see things that are not age appropriate because of free speech and land of the free then someone needs to protect the kids. The internet is for all citizens; however, all of its contents are not.
