  1. Review - µTorrent for Windows

    1.6.1 Beta Build 483 (Oct 6, 2006)

    The best bittorrent application.

Anybody know where we can view a changelog of these betas?

  2. Review - Evolution

    3.2.6 Build 247 Beta (Oct 2, 2006)

I agree that $30 is too much for disc burning software, there are already plenty of free alternatives. That being said, I am impressed with Evolution. It is a small program with a nice, clean, and intuitive interface.

I've been looking for a simple replacement for EZ Media Creator for some time now, I just don't %90 of the features. If Evolution were free, it would be my new default burning software. Alas, I cannot justify paying $30 for it.

  3. Review - Adblock

    0.5 Development Build 2 (Sep 20, 2005)

I was excited to finally see Adblock being updated, only to notice it is the same version that has been around for ages. Great extension, just wish they would finally update it.

  4. Review - RealPlayer for Windows

    10.5 Final Build 6.0.12.1056 (Nov 1, 2004)

I try to avoid rating software that I have never used. However, in the case of RealPlayer, I will make an exception. I would not recommend RealNetworks software based on past experiences, and also knowing that there is an alternative available.

The last few versions of RealPlayer have been notorious for insinuating itself into a computer system. It automatically associates itself with every media format it supports, causes unwanted utilities to load on start up, and creates shortcuts to other software available from RealNetworks.

Getting to the point, their software is bloated and annoying. Instead, I recommend using Real Alternative. It is efficient software that allows you to play Real files without having to install any programs from RealNetworks. Check it out:

  5. Review - MSN Messenger for Windows

    7.0.0332 Beta (Nov 1, 2004)

I dislike Microsoft. I do not like their deceptive practices or their bloated, buggy, and usually overpriced software.

Despite this bias, I do not mind MSN Messenger. It is free, efficient, and intuitive. I'd rather use MSN Messenger than the mostly bloated clients from AOL, ICQ, and Yahoo.

I dislike requiring a Hotmail account to use MSN Messenger. I would rather use a different address, especially considering it is next to impossible to find a good hotmail address that isn't already taken.

With all that being said, I rarely use MSN Messenger. My default client is Trillian Pro, a intuitive and efficient program that supports MSN, AOL, ICQ, and Yahoo simultaneously. Trillian Pro's only drawback is that it isn't free.

  6. Comment - Microsoft Confirms Six Vista Editions

    7.0.0332 Beta (Feb 27, 2006 - 2:10 PM)

I have this uneasy feeling that I am going to need one component in a higher end edition of Windows Vista. I will have to pay more money to get it because of a dozen other components included that I do not want or need.

I hope nLite is quick to support Windows Vista.

  7. Comment - .XXX Domain Delayed Even Further

    7.0.0332 Beta (Dec 4, 2005 - 11:02 PM)

I consider porn a counterfeit and inferior form of sex that cheapens the beauty and enjoyment of real sex in a real relationship. I am certainly no advocate of online or offline porn.

That being said, whether people like it or not, online porn is already legitimized. If moving it all to an .xxx and .sex domain would help control and block such content, I support it completely.

  8. Comment - ICANN Again Delays .XXX Domain

    7.0.0332 Beta (Sep 19, 2005 - 2:00 PM)

    Nothing is ever simple.
