1. Comment - Symantec Gets Tax Bill of $1 Billion

   Symantec isn't a bad company; they just have some bad products...some, not all. As for the tax debt. When you acquire a company, you assume all debt and liability. Someone is going to burn for this one. Before the acquisition was completed, Symantec would have done an audit of Vertis' books and tax filings.
   
   Basically, they missed it and now they have to pay. And a pretty large group of people within Symantec's accounting firm will probably go down if flames...publicly.

2. Comment - Trend Micro Extends Microsoft Deal

   I agree. You would think it might make consumers wary about the OneCare antivirus solution. If MS really believed they have the best antivirus, and we all know that MS believes they have the best everything, that they would use their own scanner. The only thing that I can think of, is that TM is already adapted to work with HotMail and OneCare, which is still being developed, will need extra programming to cover Hotmail. Maybe they make the switch and the end of new contract.
