  1. Review - UltraEdit

    15.20.0 (Oct 21, 2009)

I am now forced to use this editor at work in stead of EditPad Pro. UE sucks, it is amazingly slow, there are so many toolbars that the toolbars are almost unusable, start up takes so long I can go make a cup of tea. The syntax highlighting is terrible. maybe if you have never user a better editor you would find this great, but after years of EditPad Pro I can see how bad this programme is... the search and replace is truly awful, like using MS Word. I am very suprised that it is so bad, as I have heard good things about it. At least my company can't make me use it at home!

  2. Review - EditPad Pro for Windows

    6.4.2 (Aug 1, 2008)

This text editor is the best there is. I've had no problems like the previous commentator with UTF-8. Maybe his settings are wrong.

The Find and replace not being in a seperate window is just a matter of personal taste. I love EPP Search and replace pane, it's annoying as hell when working with other programmes, to no longer see the S&R window when switching tabs. The S&R pane is one of the reasons why I started using EPP, I hate popup S&R windows.

The interface is easy to use, it's has very many features.

The syntax highlighting is great, the author even has special programmes for download that allow you to create your own schemes very easily, or edit existing ones, another programme lets you create File navigation schemes for helkpings ee the structure of a file (like a list of classes and functions in a php file, for example.)

All these can be shared online with other users, and you can download and update schems and structures directly through EPP. Even the snippets pane has this functionality, making very quick to get new snippets for the programming language you are using.

    Give it a try.

Like Wikipedia, this programme is too Americanised to be useful. I also fail to see what is so revolutionary about it.

  4. Review - Windows Live Mail

    1.0 Final (Nov 12, 2007)

Throughout this piece of adwares development it has been consistently listed as freeware, no amount of emails to Fileforum gets it changed.

Complain about a programme from a small, one man developer who lists his programme as freeware when it's adware and it gets changed straight away. Do the same with Microsoft and nothing happens. Why?

This is adware, plain and simple.

    @artisanicview

Your dream came true years ago, it's called Pidgin (aka Gaim)

This is poor at the moment. In the future maybe it will be better, anyone who gives this app more than a 1 now is either lying or Mozilla FanBoy.

35 billion might seem a lot to you, me as well. To MS it's about the same as two months of your salary. Let people rip you off every year for two months salary and see if you feel annoyed about it.
