OMG this program is horrible. Why even bother releasing it anymore?!
Can't your time be better spent doing public service?
2.4.2.0 (Jan 15, 2009)
Can't beat it, never fails, works simple, free and USB portable.
N'uf said- Done and Done...
3.0.1 RC2 (Jan 15, 2009)
Consistently impressive. A marvel of open source effort and execution. Although it lacks a 'Outlook' it's a direct competitor to Microsoft office and it's bloated code. [Windows] Evolution could fix that real easy.
I love the portable version and the use of extensions now. Being able to post directly to WORDPRESS/BLOG from OO Write is nice.
I agree with a patching system, 140mb downloads get old, but as long as you've a hs connection, it's not that bad.
Well worth it. Can't beat the price...
5.4.1.2 Beta (Nov 10, 2008)
This thing rocks. Hands down easy to use and works as advertised. These are the types of things that should be built in to Windows.
Thanks to the author!

I was a AVG guy for a long time - when v8 came out it kille dmy system constantly 100% CPU and seemed like they went nuts and added all kinda BLOAT crap to it. I agree with the other guy; 8 is not a upgrade to 7.5... For that reason I left them...

If UAC doesn't help then WTF? It's supposed to help, but with it on or off, makes no difference, it's a POS; why bother?!

@smarterthanyou, Your serious? So of all the things a smartphone can do means nothing and the ONE thing that defines it, to claim the title 'phone', is the fact it can make phone calls? I don't think so.. They're all super small computers that can make phone calls...
With all due respect, your name sake doesn't suite you very well...

Ubuntu has gotten so much better over the past few years. I took my 5 year old laptop and slapped Ubuntu on it and it's like it's a new machine machine again. I loaded FLASH and WINE and I'm browsing and running Windows programs on Ubuntu... all this from a 650mb CD, and installation in about 20 minutes. Very happy thus far.

Internet Explorer is dead... move on.

Just my view...
The issue with social websites like this is the level of policing they do [lack of].. and honestly they shouldn't be doing the policing, the people who get the messages/updates should be doing it.
And how you control this is by providing an option to report this person/entity as a spammer/abuser. And then there should be steps behind that to deal with them or to help the person who's account was stolen.
Rarely, does a site or program get used in the way it was intended and while Facebook and Twitter were noble thoughts at first, we can all realize that they've been commercialized and now a victim to attack and exploitation. Creeps/Criminals find loop holes and they take advantage.
'...cesspool of sleaziness' - it can be, but there needs to be options...
This is fine as long as there's a way to police it. Make it easy; give the people the power to police the traffic and then maybe things will start to get better.
