   Review - Ad-Aware

   Anniversary Edition 8.0.0.0 (Mar 16, 2009)

   This review covers the interface, not any internal scanning capabilities.
   
   Text in the GUI looks washed-out and blurry. Of course they are using all custom controls, so forget about using keyboard shortcuts like Tab or Escape. Is the whole thing just a giant clickable bitmap? How about rescinning regular Windows instead of going back to the year 2000 when owner-draw controls were The Sh*t, and everyone had to have their cool rounded button?

   Did not work: didn't reveal the password in SQL Enterprise Manager. Also, the big "lock" cursor is awkward to drag around and point at a specific box.

   Review - Paint Shop Pro

   11.20 (Feb 24, 2007)

   Yes, the installation is ridiculous (200+ MB, then it extracts itself like 3 times and finally set up the app), but the GUI, performance, and features are great. Don't diss a program b/c some silly installation developer had self-image problems ;)

   Review - GAlert

   Not bad at all, but I wish it had a way to customize the message-preview text color in addition to the background color. The only text color available, gray, looks hard to read on almost any customizable background color available. More to come as I use it.
