  1. Review - Ascendis Caller ID

    1.9.2.6 Beta (Feb 20, 2007)

    Orv Williams

    Try Call Blocker. I too have a Zoom v92 modem (PCI though) and it works great. nothing fancy about it, just a caller ID pop-up. But what you do get is the ability to block any calls you do not wish to receive. I have been using it for a very long time and have found none other that work as simply. It used to be available here on BetaNews but the product is out of production now. iJen, the company that wrote it doesnt even list it on their website now, but direct links to it on the server are still around. It is shareware, and cheap, but worth it. I am posting a link to it below. Good luck.

  2. Review - Magic Mail Monitor

    2.94 Beta 14 (Dec 27, 2006)

    Not a bad program, but with the rare updates and current bugs, I would recommend you try PopPeeper ( http://fileforum.betanew...POP_Peeper/1040166580/1 ). It is frequently updates, light, and has all features you may need for a program of this type.

  3. Review - PKLite SQL Client

    2 Beta 2 (Jun 11, 2005)

    I am not familiar with this project nor its author. I would like however to point out a possible conflict in its naming. PKLite is a registered trademark product name of PKWare Inc. Seeing how this is an active on market product, they may take issue with the use of the name (curiously spelled the same with the same capital letters). For further verification please visit http://www.pkzipstore.co...p;PGRP=0&CACHE_ID=0

    LOL granted Phil Katz was a crazy old coot, but the successors of PKWare are likely to attempt some kind of action once they see your product publicly available on BetaNews.com

  4. Review - Google Deskbar

    0.5.67 Beta (Nov 9, 2003)

    sirhardi, this is for those who have graduated kindergarden, eerrr... I mean from IE. Google has yet to supply a browser bar for browsers such as Mozilla and Opera (Though Opera does provide a simple google box). This program is just one more reason eliminate IE from your computer.

  5. Comment - iTunes and Vista Still Have Issues

    0.5.67 Beta (Mar 7, 2007 - 12:00 AM)

    @davidlerner & @xxdesmus

    I completely agree with you both. I have 2 kids who both have/had 30gb ipod videos and I have a 60gb video. After a lengthy argument with Apple Care on the phone, where I was told that consumers will know when an Vista compatiable iTunes would be released only when it was on the web page, and not before, I decided to leave iPod behind. Though there are things I do NOT like about the Zune, I decided to go buy 3 of them that very night for the family. The next day Apple sent an email asking me to rate my experience with the Apple Care CSR. I gave it the worst possible in every category and explained that I replaced all my Apple iPods with MS Zunes :D . Two days later we get this crappy attempt at a fix and nothing has changed.
