  1. Review - Mandriva Linux

    LE 2005 (Apr 19, 2005)

I didn't test it, and refuse to. Why should I pay for a club membership or whatever it's called for an operating system that is based on open source. I fI wanted to do that I would go redhat (the evil empire of the linux world).
I did give this a rating of 3 due to it being (mandrake that is) a great os. I don't understand why there is stability issues with kde 3.4, which I have been running since released on pclinuxos 8.1a without any problem what so ever.

  2. Review - nVidia XFree86 Driver for Linux

    1.0-7167 (Mar 14, 2005)

can and will install without a problem on the 2.6.11.1 and 2.6.11.2 kernel. Wasn't hard to install, but a linux newbie really should read the instructions. I gotta give it a 5 since no other driver had support for the 2.6 kernel.

  3. Review - Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool (x86)

    1.0 (Jan 11, 2005)

This seems like a good start for Microsoft getting into the Spyware/antivirus business. This program doesn't have all the definitions of every malicious software that is out there, but give it time. So far it only scans for 8 definitions.
I hope Microsoft doesn't shoot themselves in the foot with this stuff like they have done so many times in the past.

  4. Review - XP-AntiSpy

    3.83 (Aug 23, 2004)

Just installed it and ran it. Also ran Spybot and Adaware to make sure. There isn't any spyware crap in this program, and whoever says there is has a problem.
Program seems to do what it says it does, and does it very well. Out of everything it check, I only had 1 thing that I didn't like, which was, I still had the zip functionality active..

  5. Review - CDBurnerXP

    3.0.109 Beta (Aug 15, 2004)

Takes longer to write a complete audio CD than it does Nero, However, the audio seems to be much better after burn. It should not take over 5 minutes to burn a complete cd at 52x, should it?
Interface, as others have stated, is clunky. hopefully the author will take care of that detail once all the other bugs are worked out. I would much rather have a clunk interface with great writting capabilities, than a program that doesn't work right and looks good... Functionality > looks.
