  1. Review - NRPG RatioMaster for Windows

    0.41 (Oct 2, 2008)

is it really a good idea to show an actual image of pirated files being downloaded? I bet Microsoft would/will take execption to the image showing a download of Visual Studio 2005 Pro from thepiratebay.org

  2. Review - USB Over Network

    3.3 Beta (Nov 29, 2007)

I give this a one for high cpu usage when transfering. I give this a one because it is $99 for something that should be no more than $19.99
I give this a 1 for the idea that somebody would be willing to pay $99 for software that can be done for about $49.99 in hardware with
"0" services, "0" CPU usage and "0" ram usage.
    So let's see.
$49.00 Dedicated hardware based USB sharing
    or
$99.00 Software based "think win-usb" USB sharing .

Seems like a no brainer to me.

  3. Review - Radmin (Remote Administrator)

    3.1 (Nov 4, 2007)

When there are a few hundred freeware and nearly freeware apps out there, I can't see the need to a: tout your own goods by giving reviews.
b: wonder why someone would actually buy something like this when there is VNC, RDC. PCAnywhere, Goto mypc, all of which are either free, or cheaper.

  4. Review - XPize

    4.7 Beta (Jul 19, 2007)

I hate giving something a "2" let alone without even having the honor to try it, but in this case I have no choice.
Windows Live OneCare found potentially harmful or unwanted software on your computer
    Threat Name: TrojanDownloader:Win32/Zlob
Detection Date and Time: 7/19/2007 8:41 PM
    File Name: C:\Documents and Settings\*\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\01BWNHLL\XPize47bFull[1].exe
    Threat Severity: Severe
    Threat Category: Trojan Downloader
Virus and spyware monitoring found potentially unwanted software: (ANTIVIRUS_ONACCESS_INFECTED)

NOT a good way to start off an experience. Now true this may or may not be a false positive, I don't care, either way it will not be going on any machine I own.

  5. Review - Folding@home for Windows

    5.91 Beta 5 (Jul 3, 2007)

Doesn't work on the HD 2900 XT either. Warns about it only being able to run on the X1800 X1900 or the FireGL card then exits.

  6. Comment - Five Vista perception problems Windows 7 must overcome

    5.91 Beta 5 (May 29, 2009 - 11:30 PM)

    pecosbill - Macs = OpenGL
OpenGL = sucky gaming, one thing about DirectX is it blows OpenGL away for gaming. Period.

astromac - How about something as simple and oh so useful as right click cut, right click paste for files?

And while I HATE UAC on Vista and even on 7. I SO hate being prompted for my password for EVERYTHING I do on my mac. EVERYTHING, no "remember this for this session" nothing at least on Linux you can tell it to remember for your logged in session. Hands down 7 Wins that round.

As much as I don't like Linux, I like OS X even less. And I am amazed at people who think it is the best thing since sliced bread.

  7. Comment - Windows Vista SP1 Beta Released to Private Testers

    5.91 Beta 5 (Sep 26, 2007 - 12:32 AM)

Exclusive? I went to connect and there it was. I don't think it is so "exclusive"
So far it feels EXACTLY the same as pre SP1 :( and sound still sucks. [Creative's fault].
The OS runs flawlessly for the most part, and every program that works works well. But it still feels SLOW even on a relativly fast machine [its old, but still get's 5.9 on the Vista Scale]. There are just too many "icky" things to deal with in Vista to ever make me want to switch. I'm hoping to hold onto XP until Vista R2, hopefully by then a 10Ghz QuadCore chip and 32 gigs of ram will be cheap enough to allow Vista to shine.
