Fantastic idea. Wonder what OS they can include in that price? *grin*

The tone of the comments here seem to be running along the line of "looks cool, BUT..."
"...a laptop is cheaper." Yes. A laptop is also BIGGER. You seem to be missing the point.
"...it needs a real keyboard." Get a Bluetooth (or USB) one. A real keyboard would make the unit BIGGER. See point above.
"...it needs more USB ports." Buy a hub.
"...PDA is cheaper." Also less capable. If you REALLY wanted to, you could run AutoCAD on the OQO (not that it's a GOOD idea, just that you can).
This is one of those devices that looks really cool, but when you think about it the market's pretty narrow. There's really only two kinds of buyers for this thing: people who really NEED a full-fledged computer this small (fewer people than you'd think), and people who like it because it looks really cool.

This is a fantastic idea, though not unprecidented (UPN made all the first season of Dilbert available online as well, for all the good it did).
UPN has a great opportunity here. They've got a show with huge critical buzz and a good audience already. This should help get the ball rolling.

Interesting that Fujitsu has released a new touch-screen tablet-STYLE PC, but running plain XP Pro (rather than Tablet edition). They claim the different operating system is to save costs.
If MS REALLY wants to drive adoption of this platform, why don't they discount the O/S price to OEMs?
I'd love to TRY a Tablet; I think this is probably what all notebooks will wind up being eventually, but the $$$ is still a real barrier for me.

It's encouraging to hear MS is committed to bring this technology to market, though I'd argue that Apple perhaps applied a little pressure with Spotlight. Not to say that Apple invented the idea (I recall MS originally planned an "in memory database" for Windows 2000), but, once again, it looks like Apple was left to prove a concept for users first...
