  1. Review - Go-OO

    2.4.1.5 (Oct 16, 2009)

I am not sure why this hasn't been updated on betanews as I 'm testing version GoOo-3.1.1-5 and it works a treat. I do hope that betanews updates their inclusion of the adaptation of OO as it is a worthy application.

  2. Review - Opera for Windows (Beta)

    10.10 Build 1833 Beta 1 (Oct 14, 2009)

I am surprised at how much I am now liking this browser having not bothered to install it for a while.
Whilst it does not enjoy the addons of FF it has some unique features that are, imo, making it different enough to make it a worthy contender for my default browser. However I use the "No Scripts" add-on for FF, and others, that I would find an issue in not having with my default browser.
There can still be some formatting issues, always reported, but as this browser continues to develop I am pleased that for me those issues are becoming less troublesome and, in some cases, resolved altogether.
I am not sure why some people consistently rate this browser so low and yet continue to claim to install and use it.? Surely it should be time to move on and stay with a browser that they are more meets their needs..?
Anyhow a pleasant surprise for me when using the browser.
A 4 is used for the rating due to still having some formatting issues and other small quirks.

  3. Review - SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition

    4.28.1008 Beta (Sep 3, 2009)

I have used this version and the full paid for one, for sometime now and I have found that it does not compromise the speed of my PC and it works very very well. I like the constant updates and their supportive forums.

@emanresU deriseD - Whilst I appreciate you have had issues with the full version that was not made clear in your initial review. Indeed you noted "This thing is a useless, performance-killing t***" implying that the version you were reviewing was the free version.
If you feel bad enough to rate 1 star which wasn't the version you were using then why did you not use their offer to get a refund on the full version..?

    "SUPERAntiSpyware.com offers a 30-day unconditional 100% money-back guarantee.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, please contact our customer service department within 30 days of your original purchase and we will issue you a full refund. "

  4. Review - MediaPortal

    1.1.0 Beta 1 (Sep 1, 2009)

I would spend sometime reading the release notes within their forum....

    http://forum.team-mediap...eased-69653/#post502427

...whilst this beat does require testing and feedback you must remember that it is a beta and not recommended to use full time on a media PC. For that they have version 1.02 which has been working a treat for me for a while. I am using it on Windows 7 x64 and the only issues I had was the refresh rate not auto changing when playing 24hz material and some issues with my remote control. However both of these were fixed with help from their supportive forums.

Media Portal is worth all the effort to get it to work but I had limited success in ever getting the TV function to show a populated EPG. I ended up buying DVB pro and I use that for the TV viewing.

  5. Review - POP Peeper

    3.5 (Aug 25, 2009)

Works very well for me with the multiple accounts that I have set it to check. No issues found and great functionality.
