  1. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.0 Beta 2 (May 23, 2006)

Note how many of those claiming Opera has significant rendering problems never actually post any links. Really helpful.

If they did, they'd get fixed. Until then, ignore 'em.

    2.0 Alpha 1 (Mar 23, 2006)

Extensions don't work. Again. Why is it so difficult to have a separate versioning system for subcomponents of the browser? Extensions should work unless there are changes to the extension model that'll not fail gracefully.

And the memory leaks are still there. Its slow and bulky without any extensions.

    'Firefart' :D

Seriously, if you're tired of the memory hoggin slowness of Firefox and all the extension just making it worse, think about Opera. More functionality than your fully extensioned up Firefox, yet smaller than Firefox without any extensions at all!

Plus, it even beats IE in cold/warm starts despite IE being preloaded and built into the OS!

Some reviewers know next to nothing!

To open a link in a new tab, middle click or hold down s***.

Otherwise, Opera v9tp2 is the fastest and most standards compliant Windows browser of them all.

    9.0 Build 8031 Technology Preview 1 (Oct 20, 2005)

    Opera defines the future.

Ever wondered where Firefox and the very antiquated IE browsers get their ideas? Opera!

It does really take some getting used to, but once you're hooked, thats it. Speed wise, it is without compare. It has everything you need built in yet still less than 4Mb!

IBM and Opera did something veeerrryyy similar last year.

    9.0 Build 8031 Technology Preview 1 (Jun 13, 2005 - 8:12 AM)

    Why not buy your browser?

I bet you bought (or pirated) Office, but you don't use OpenOffice. This is contradictory behaviour expecially since office is becoming increasingly poor and bloated with nothing really new - almost like IE6.

Opera is better than firefox and well worth the price, IMO.
