  1. Review - ISO Commander

    1.0.304 Beta (Feb 26, 2003)

Limited in it's functions? Did you RTFM? DId you read the error message you might have gotten? When I first fired it up, it said I didn't have up to date ASPI drivers installed. So a quick visit to adaptec cured all.

This is the first real WinISO killer I have seen. Good feature set, pretty stable (it is beta) and supports a lot of different formats. 4 stars only because they want you to buy the software that is still in beta :/

  2. Review - Eudora for Windows

    5.2.1.0 Beta (Jan 30, 2003)

NOt keeping up with the times? Sure it has. What else do you need? It has POP3 and IMAP support. Nothing late and great has come along in the email industry that requires a program more powerful than Eudora. Furthermore, the interface is still fine, and prefered by more professionals. I for one, and glad Qualcomm hasn't succumbed to letting 12 year old girls design program interfaces using play-doh, while sitting in art class. It has it's bugs (like not rendering email after it's been downloaded) but overall, Eudora is one of the oldest, most respected, and powerful email clients out there. --cheers

  3. Review - Mozilla for Windows

    1.2.1 (Dec 3, 2002)

Great Browser. I crossed over from Opera after seeing O7.

New in this version is the type ahead feature. woohoo.

Those who just call this crap and gave it one star, have probably not used it for long (as they didn't have anything else to say). It's WAY more configurable than IE (for instance, deny popups I didn't request)

Not only is it a browser/mail client, but a platform in and of itself. Using Javascript and other W3C technologies, one can build cross platform applications based on Mozilla. I hope this will one day rival Java.

    Nice work Mozilla!

  4. Review - WinISO

    5.3.0.125 (Jun 3, 2002)

Quirky and buggy at times. Kind of annoying. But its the only program of its kind, so I put up with it. It does have an impressive feature set, and familiar interface (read: winzip) 3.5 stars actually

  5. Review - DHTML Menu Builder

    3.5.0 Beta (5/13/02) (May 14, 2002)

I used to use this program a lot. And it was one of the best/first of its kind.

However, there are many many other choices now. SoThink and AllWebMenus come to mind. Each are very cross-browser compatible, and cheaper than DMB.

    dosveedanya DMB. Hello sothink :)

  6. Comment - IE7 Beta 2 Receives Mixed Reviews

    3.5.0 Beta (5/13/02) (Apr 27, 2006 - 7:28 PM)

Isn't "Start -> Windows Update" easier? And that's always been there.

  7. Comment - Solar Flare Disrupts Communication, Navigation

    3.5.0 Beta (5/13/02) (Sep 8, 2005 - 4:51 PM)

Everyone knows it's not Bush's fault. Duh!

    It's Microsoft's

  8. Comment - Opera to Stop Spoofing IE User Agent

    3.5.0 Beta (5/13/02) (Aug 2, 2005 - 5:56 PM)

Nah, Lynx is too foo-foo for these people. They all want us to telnet to port 80 and run raw HTTP commands :)

What about everyone's beloved Gmail? It's DHTML/Ajax/whatever. It works fine.

Like HTML, there is standard javascript/dom sanctioned by the W3C, that if adheared to, will work in any browser that supports those standards.

  9. Comment - Windows XP SP2 Delayed Until Late 2004

    3.5.0 Beta (5/13/02) (Aug 18, 2003 - 2:48 PM)

FYI - We're already half way through Q3 - 2003. If MS really is going to integrate features into SP2, then Q3 2004 sounds more accurate. Not that it matters. Just keep your box updated regularly.

  10. Comment - Longhorn Leak Offers Peek at Windows Future

    3.5.0 Beta (5/13/02) (Mar 5, 2003 - 2:37 AM)

I agree. The only people MS OS's appeal to anymore, is anyone only concerned with the way it looks. oooo ahhhh pretty colors....

Sorry, but i don't like my OS's to look like a 12 yr old girl designed them in art class.

win2k is my current OS, but only until Linux ripens some more.
