0.3.154.3 Beta (Oct 17, 2008)
I like Chrome a lot, and I think it has some great potential. 2 things are needed: True cross-platform codebase and plugin support.
(BTW: The 4GB limit is usually if you are trying to save to a FAT32 filesystem rather than NTFS)
8.00 Build 46 (Dec 18, 2006)
While it seems that many people had a good experience with this program, I must sadly report the opposite. After doing an offline defragmentation with PerfectDisk, Windows was rendered unusable. The taskbar and half of the system services wouldn't load.
It smells like some files were corrupted. The only solution was to restore from backup.
Based on my experiences, I have to recommend an alternative solution - any alternative solution (O&O or Diskeeper perhaps) over this.
Beta 7 Update 2 (Nov 6, 2006)
Support for D - well done! However, it gives me an "invalid profile"-message when I try to compile (even though it has a compiler profile set up for D). :/
3.0 Beta (4.2006.215.1832) (Feb 24, 2006)
It's never worked perfectly, whether in our out of beta. With the recent addition of being able to search across more than one computer - and the security risks that comes with it in addition to the fact that Google will be storing information centrally of what files you have on your computer - I have to advice against using this application.
3.0 Beta (4.2006.215.1832) (Dec 2, 2005 - 6:41 AM)
I experience no loss in performance when using this. Quite the other way around actually, since it uses hardware acceleration provided you have a compatible graphics card.
Also, it is not dependant on the themes service. You can just shut down the themes service while using WB, no problem.
I use it because it let's me use way more minimalistic - and at the same time beautiful - skins than windows classic or default.
3.0 Beta (4.2006.215.1832) (Sep 17, 2005 - 10:44 AM)
Remember that Microsoft owns a significant part of Apple's shares as well. Between that and staying out of the courts (monopoly anyone?), it's in their best interest to see Apple thrive.
Porting their software to other platforms is frankly a good idea. From MS point of view it's better that people use their software than a competitors, even though they use another platform.

Be that as it may, but talking about revolutions...
Firefox has done something that no other browser has managed for quite a while; namely pushed IE use down below the 90% mark. Which is ENORMOUS, especially when you take things like laziness (IE is supplied out of the box), conservatism, and the tendency for people to be unwilling to try anything new into the picture.
I think that counts as something. I also think monkeys are far more clever than most consumers.
