  1. Review - Bersirc

    2.2.7 (Jan 2, 2005)

Bersirc is currently my IRC client of choice and it seems to be one of the better freeware options. However, has anyone found an option to have it flash the window (AIM style) when a new message appears in a channel? That would be one of the few areas of improvement for me.

  2. Review - PSPad editor

    4.3.1 (1989) Beta (Jul 21, 2004)

Don: I'm also currently a Crimson Editor user and PSPad looks pretty nice -- what features did you find in PSPad that were missing in Crimson Editor?

  3. Review - Trillian

    0.74 (Sep 11, 2002)

There used to be a changlog for Trillian on their site, but I can't find it at the moment. Does anyone have the URL for that?

  4. Review - 2xExplorer

    1.3.1.4 Beta (Dec 6, 2001)

WaKa: While it's true that the version linked here is a beta, there are "stable" versions available at the website as well.

PS Does anyone know of a similar freeware file manager, but with built-in Zip support, such as transparently browsing .zip files as "just another folder"? That would be quite useful to me :).

  5. Review - NewsBin Pro for Windows NT/2000/XP

    4.0 Beta 16 (Dec 6, 2001)

NewsBin Pro looks quite promising, but does anyone know of a freeware alternative?

    1,000 pages -- two reams?! That's pathetic.

    4.0 Beta 16 (Aug 16, 2001 - 1:01 PM)

Does it support Ogg Vorbis? That would definitely make it more tempting for me. (http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/index.html)

  8. Comment - ICQ Wants Your Opinion on Ads

    4.0 Beta 16 (Mar 16, 2001 - 10:03 AM)

FWIW, the registry key to turn off AutoUpdate (aka Call Home "feature") is "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mirabilis\ICQ\DefaultPrefs\Auto Update". Change that from "Yes" to "No".
