7.1 RC2 (Dec 29, 2008)
Been off and on with FreeBSD since 4.x, easy to install, responsive when running, tuneable, slick port management, kernel compilation is not a chore as it is with a number of Linux distros. But lose two full points from five for not supporting a number of my newer hardware platforms as driver and hardware detection support is spotty. Laptops are hit and miss. I want to move away from Xubuntu into my BSD comfort zone, but until hardware support is improved, I'll have to wait until 8.x stabilizes before the transition. Hopefully.
0.72 (Dec 6, 2008)
Now at 1.34. Why run uTorrent under Wine when you can use Transmission? Like Deluge, this client gets the job done and done simply and well.
2.4.0 (Dec 6, 2008)
Now at 2.5.2. Simple, uncluttered interface. Three out of five for continuing difficulties establishing connections to Yahoo! IM.
3.1.6 (Dec 6, 2008)
You can always set "Config Location" in fzdefaults.xml to a TrueCrypt container to protect yourself from prying eyes. Four out of five for taking so much installation footprint over 2.x.
10.0 Build 4102 Alpha 1 (Dec 6, 2008)
Relatively stable for an alpha build off Ubuntu 2.6.27-9-generic, the new Presto engine is noticeably faster at rendering than the previous version. Though it is a good idea to do so, existing 9.x profiles do not need to be rebuilt for compatibility. Four out of five for crashing just one time under heavy use within the last day.
10.0 Build 4102 Alpha 1 (Mar 15, 2005 - 6:28 AM)
Grab yourself a copy of XPLite and remove all traces of IE, including the HTML rendering engine. No more IE-based worries. Period.
