  1. Review - Norton Removal Tool for Windows 2000/XP/Vista

    2010.0.0.98 (Sep 14, 2009)

I tried this today, on the SAV Corp. version, and the thing insisted that I use Add/remove programs to remove the application, which wasn't working to begin with, and the reason for using this to begin with..

-- I had to go through the system, and kill it manually.

then ran it again, and there was still a ton of Symantec junk in the system folders, and registry.,.

  2. Comment - Microsoft on Win7 UAC: 'Take the emotions out of the discussion'

    2010.0.0.98 (Feb 6, 2009 - 12:18 PM)

The issue with UAC is that almost ~EVERY~ installer wants to put files in location on the drive like the System32 folder, or Windows folder. Unfortunately that triggers UAC everytime.

The simplest solution is to learn from the Mac.. Eliminate shared DLLs, and make applications store it's files WITH the application, that way anything thing that modifies the Windows/System folders would require an Admin level password, and anything in the Program Files folder would not. Uninstall = Delete Folder. *done*

  4. Comment - Windows Defender Final Released

    2010.0.0.98 (Oct 24, 2006 - 6:13 PM)

Are you actually READING these articles?... Windows Defender is a *FREE* product.

Where does the "Charge Extra" comment apply here?

  5. Comment - Apple Issues Second Tiger OS Update

    2010.0.0.98 (Jul 14, 2005 - 6:01 AM)

Why all this whining over 44mb.. most peopl eare on a broadband connetion, and 44mb is a drop in the bucket... and for those still stuck on dial-up, Apple's retail stores will put the updates on a cd for the customer, for about $5 - $10... 44mb is nothing... (People whine about the dumbest things sometimes)

  6. Comment - Stallman: Closed BIOS Code 'Unethical'

    2010.0.0.98 (Feb 28, 2005 - 8:31 PM)

The -average- computer users know ~just~ enought to get by, maybe an OPEN BIOS would be a good idea for a POWERUSER or the like... but I deal with people who BARELY know how to turn ON a computer during the course of a day.. and you want to OPEN UP the BIOS code to these people?!? these people are dangerous enough JUST by running windows... don't let them try to re-write their bios, screw it up, and end up with a $800++ paperweight, and then start calling anyone that will listen, and CRY about it... and blame it on anyone but themselves... Open BIOS ~still~ sound like a GOOD idea?
