  1. Review - Opera for Windows (Beta)

    10.0 Build 1139 Alpha 1 (Dec 5, 2008)

I noticed that Opera still have their stupid way of dealing with cookies, I could never get on with it, so that puts me off to start with.

Speed wise is not that much faster than Firefox, certainly not enough to turn me from firefox, the scroll pad on my Acer laptop did not work Opera either, and yet it works in every other browser.

Opera is not a bd browser, but it offers nothing that other browsers don't and with Firefox I can still use my extensions and add ons.

BTY, I still use Firefox 2 as I think it is a better browser than FF3.

  2. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.20 Build 8746 Beta (Mar 16, 2007)

I do like Opera, but I hate it's cookie system, Firefox is much better at asking if I want to accept the cookie. It gives me three options, allow, deny or session and on each of them, I can tick if I want it permant. Opera is much more complex than it need to be, which is a shame, because I am sure I would use Opera all the time. At the moment I have not reinstalled Opera on my computer.

  3. Review - Winamp 5 Lite

    5.34 Build 1178 Beta (Mar 16, 2007)

Nullsoft lost the plot about the time AOl took over, I liked Winamp in the 2.0 days, then when they took it up to version 3, they concentrated more on how it looks, not how it works, to be honest noting have changed, the last version of Winamp I tried just kept crashing.

This version is better, but it is still bloated and to be honest does nthing different than what Windows media player does.

I did like QCD as weel, but that seems to be bloated now.
why is it that no one can just may a plain old MP3 player without all the rubbish?

  4. Review - Winamp 5 Full

    5.33 Build 1079 (Feb 6, 2007)

Winamp went to pot at Version 3 and above and become bloated and unreliable. I went to Qcd and never looked back. A much better meadia player, but tsyaing that, QCD is starting to get too big.

winamp was a great player in it 2.0 days, but not now.

  5. Comment - HP to acquire 3Com for $2.7 B in cash, focus on China

    5.33 Build 1079 (Nov 11, 2009 - 5:44 PM)

That is a another decent company gone by the way. I got a old Courier modem from Us robotics days, before the company became 3com. It was great in it's day, I also got some 2com network cards that was good. Now Hp have got hold of the company expect quality to fall.

  6. Comment - Motorola and Verizon unveil the Droid, Google Maps navigation

    5.33 Build 1079 (Oct 30, 2009 - 8:14 PM)

The problem here is Google, it is bad enough them trying to find out which site you visit on a computer, a O/S produced by Google is to be honest scary. Too big now and too much in your face, i tend to avoid Google if I can.

  7. Comment - Google Wave expands, in search of a clear use-case scenario

    5.33 Build 1079 (Sep 30, 2009 - 5:12 PM)

Not Trolling at all, just wondering what is the point in it? We have email, which is pretty private, not sure about Gmaiul since Google loves to scan it.
We have services like Facebook and Twitter. I use Facebook, but not Twitter, so what is the point in this Wave?

Google have got too big and seems to want to take over the net, just like Microsoft tries to.

I do tend to avoid Google these days, which is a shame as their search engine is still the best.

  8. Comment - Google Wave expands, in search of a clear use-case scenario

    5.33 Build 1079 (Sep 30, 2009 - 3:30 PM)

Can anyone tell me what is the point of this, apart for a way for Google to get more publicity and to spy on more people?

  9. Comment - Toshiba's $249 Blu-ray player vs. $299 PS3: The choice is obvious

    5.33 Build 1079 (Sep 4, 2009 - 5:31 AM)

I know some people may not want a games console, bt the PS3 is so much more, I have had mine for about a year and yet I play very few games on it, in fact I only got the two that came with it. You can put music and video files on it, something which most Blu-ray players wil not do, well not internally anyway as they don't have a hard drive. $249 is about 150 British pounds, but I doubt it will convert that way, I bet the Toshiba player will be in the £200 mark when it gets here. there are cheaper players here, I saw a Samsung for £140, mind you it was profile1.1, but then that is fine for a lot of people.

I like my PS3, even if I don'5t play games on it, I am one of the people sony don't like
