4.6 Beta 2 (Jan 12, 2007)
I've used XPize for quite a while now and never had a problem with it until 4.6 beta 2. I experienced the same problems as described by alanpalmer. I could fix the problem with Firefox be reinstalling it but I could not get back the IE7 interface even after reinstalling it. Furthermore, in the IE6 interface opening a link in a new Window invoked an instance of Firefox with the link displayed in an IE Tab window. Before reinstalling Firefox many links would just not open because of the JS3250.dll error that initially resulted from the XPize 4.6 beta 2. I like the visual improvements of 4.6 but it's not worth the time and hassle of fighting to get the IE7 working again.

The RyanVM integrator is a great tool and though it has some overlap in functionality with nLite it's not filling the same niche. nLite has a lot more flexibility to customize a slimmed down windows installation but nLite doesn't provide downloadable CAB files on a monthly basis with all of the post-SP2 hotfixes that the RyanVM web site does. For my slipstreamed installation disk I start with nLite, then update with the RyanVM integrator using the latest RyanVM CAB file, and finally run XPize to update the appearance of the WinXP interface. All three of these utilities rate a 5 in my opinion and they complement each other rather than compete.

This is a super piece of software that plays just about any format. It is also helpful that it is very lightweight compared to other players. The only thing I wish that it had is legacy support for Win NT 4.0

Google Earth does that in the free version. Just select Tools|Measure and then click on the Path tab and start dropping waypoints. It will measure it in miles, kilometers, meters, meters, feet, inches, centimeters or smoots.

Microsoft is a big company. Not everyone works in the OS shop. I'm sure that aside from the team of a few hundred working on code for Vista that they have room for a few creative projects on the side.
