  1. Review - AntiVir Personal Edition for Windows

    8.1.0.46 (May 21, 2008)

This is a good program, lightweight and has great detection rates. So why a 3? Can't get updates for the free version which make detection rates drop. I have tried this program a number of times over the years in the hopes they would fix the issue but the haven't. If you get the Premium version it will update but it only updates once a day from what I can see. Yes there is the popup window but I think you can deal with that for a free program. If they would ever fix the update issue I would highly recommend this program. Till that day Avast or AVG will have to do.

  2. Review - WinZip

    11.2 Build 8094 (Apr 10, 2008)

A well deserved 1. $30 for bloated software that is rarely updated or has any really innovation when they do update. Why?

  3. Review - Feedreader

    3.13 Midrelease (Mar 17, 2008)

I liked all the features of this program except for the memory footprint. I would average 90-125 meg when open which for a RSS reader is ridiculous. I found it slowed my system down to a crawl once I exited all back to normal. Try GreatNews; all the same features with only a hit of 35 meg open 2 meg when in the tray.

  4. Review - Joost for Windows

    1.0.1 Beta (Oct 13, 2007)

With all the hype around this program I thought I'd give it a try. While the interface is great playing video is horrible. If the screen is maximized you get chop, chop, chop. Unresponsive and uses 100+ meg just to run with no video playing. I have a ATI 1950GT w/ 512MB there is no reason for this. Looks promising for the future if they could ever get the memory useage under control. For the time being I would say stay away.

  5. Review - BwgBurn

    0.7.0 RC1 (Jan 23, 2007)

So far so good. It's almost like Nero without all the bloat. Keep your eye on this one. Great work guys!
