  1. Review - SkyDrive Explorer

    1.2.0.38 Beta (Nov 11, 2009)

SkyDrive Explorer gives you access to your Windows Live SkyDrive within Windows Explorer, and it's easy to use. Just install it, double click on the icon created in Windows Explorer, sign in with your Windows Live ID, and start dragging and dropping. It isn't pretty, but it gets the job done.

There are two drawbacks: you cannot copy files to root (but this is a limitation of Windows Live SkyDrive, so no big loss there) and you cannot copy a folder over, only single files (the workaround is tedious but simple: Right Click --> New --> Folder --> Give it a name --> Copy over the files). Uploading and deleting more than one file works flawlessly. In short, with this plugin you can use SkyDrive without ever logging onto the Web version at skydrive.live.com.

  2. Review - Mozilla Firefox (v3.5) for Windows

    3.5 Beta 99 (Jun 10, 2009)

I've been a Firefox fan since version 1.0 but would change immediately to Chrome if it worked with Lastpass and Xmarks or similar. I find no improvement in speed or memory, none whatsoever.

  3. Review - Money Manager Ex for Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista

    0.9.4.0 (Dec 29, 2008)

I downloaded and installed this application with high expectations. However, I've never encountered an unstable application like this one and it's no longer on my PC.

  4. Review - Smart Defrag

    Beta 4.01 (Oct 21, 2007)

I'm really angry with the people responsible for this application. I was taken with the concept of an automatic defrag utility running silently in the background. However all it did was completely mess-up my computer's security. I'm no computer whiz and that took some time to put back in order and I'm now running XP firewall instead of the Comodo one that refuses to start despite a remove, download and new install and I went through the same procedure with avast!. Prior to installing this suspect software my system was working just time. It may be time to consider litigation when these pranksters appear on the scene peddling their rubbish.

  5. Review - Fuzzy Duck Note

    1.0.4 RC4 (Nov 20, 2005)

Fresh installation. Several features don't work such as "Send To","Help" and "Import" (I haven't tried them all). I'm not at all sure how "Reminder" works as it asks for a "File to Launch". What file should I launch? The readme.txt file includes the following instruction: "Click the **** icon to bring the notetab to the front". Typo or deliberate? Come on guys. Grow up! More work is needed here.
