  1. Review - Free WMA MP3 Converter

    1.1 (Sep 3, 2009)

Not sure if it has anything bad in it...but I just tested it to convert my wma files to mp3. Works good, simple and easy. You can set it to output to any folder and to me, the folder you're working in is always the best ;).

Ran it on Vista 32bit ultimate 09/03/09

  2. Review - Resize My Pictures

    1.0.0.7a Beta (Oct 14, 2008)

first let me say, the goobers who complain about the .net requirements...goobers, totally worthless and pointless negativity

that said, app works as intended and works well. Simple and easy to understand. I give it a 4 because it's a little buggy because I understand it's a BETA (strange to have people who understand right?). Sometimes outputs as tifs...need to nail the bug down so I can report what is what (I think if it's a tif and you try and save as something else, the extension remains tif, but is actually the new format, ie., png)

  3. Review - Autoruns

  4. Review - WPanorama

works good, on vista...does more Monzi...IF you need it. Scroll down and see what it can do for you, if/when the time comes.

  5. Review - Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows XP

    7.0.5730.13 (Dec 19, 2007)

    works and works great
most all negative complaints are from clueless individuals who blame software for their inadequacies or people who simple hate anything Microsoft.

  6. Comment - Microsoft's 'Have it Your Way' confronts Apple's 'Have it Our Way'

    7.0.5730.13 (Oct 22, 2009 - 5:46 PM)

The article rings so true and yet it's very amusing to see who responds with the hate. ;) If the article was about lies and half truths it's logical to hate on it, but if it's truthful, just accept it and eat it.

It's like some politicians talking about "choice and competition", but then don't realize when there are video/audio tapes about them saying "I happen to be a proponent of a single payer system." Or how some people praise tryannical communists like that funny character (more from China than North Korea) in the Team America movie from the well known Trey Parker and Matt Stone of Southpark fame.

Some people would want you to believe communism is a good and great thing, but there are those of us don't buy it, just because it's said. Microsoft is choice, Microsoft is capitalism, Microsoft is freedom...but feel free to disagree.

(yes I am being somewhat coy) ;)

  7. Comment - Why I chose Windows 7 over Snow Leopard (and you should, too)

    7.0.5730.13 (Sep 21, 2009 - 3:33 PM)

bravo, good editorial...if only more of your colleagues could be the same (but guess not if they are somewhat independant content providers...I have no clue how betanews works :))

I'm using Windows Server 2008 R2 as my main in addition to Windows 7 Ultimate. It is all about productivity afterall. I might consider myself a "fanboy" of MS and Windows...so I'll agree to the Apple ads when they make fun of Windows users and all about getting work done. It's ok by me. ;)

  8. Comment - Windows 7: Obviously I've struck a nerve

    7.0.5730.13 (Aug 25, 2009 - 6:26 PM)

"Freedom of the press. I highly recommend you read up on it. It's eye opening stuff."

I read and like what I read and like...freedom of the public as well. But and there are "buts" for everything. I could go buy a copy of Mad magazine for their take on current affairs, or pickup a tabloid to see who gave birth to an alien robotic wolf baby, or I could go to a professional news site that just delivers facts. Betanews used to just deliver facts I believe, but I guess in this day and age, things have to be spiced up. I for one, think technology sites should just be about factual technical data.

"Sounds like an interesting project management strategy for the next large scale upgrade initiative I recommend to a client. I'm sure that'll make it completely seamless and invisible to their end-users."

I commented on your comment about upgrading for your daughter. On a larger scale...there are such things as unattended scripted installs my friend. Technical analysts should know all of these facts. It's a big world with much to learn isn't it?

  9. Comment - Windows 7: Obviously I've struck a nerve

    7.0.5730.13 (Aug 24, 2009 - 6:53 PM)

    basically saying...
I can say what I want but I'm actually a crybaby even when I pretend that I have thick skin...
Saying you have thick skin doesn't mean much when it's actually not so. I can't fly even if I say I can.

The media, and betanews included, needs to really get out of its propaganda mode...maybe the switch is stuck and nobody actually wants to jiggle it back but instead, applied some extra gorilla glue to it.

As a "news" site you "writers" need to present data and facts and keep your own spin out of it.

We all multitask right? If I need to install, reinstall, or whatever else with whatever app or program, I initiate the process and proceed with my work out time, ie, gym, exercise, health and well being. In other words, no time loss.

Don't know about you, but something I do for family I wouldn't factor cost into it, but perhaps, there are some who devalue their family members by putting certain monetary values on some things.

Go figure...the fourh paragraph from the bottom beginning with "And at the end of the day..." should perhaps be followed by the person who utters those same words and thoughts.
