DivX 7 is just another new format. Had they used the MP4 container it would at least have been compatible with Flash and all the mobile phones and devices already MP4-aware. I guess that wasn't their intention.
They should have left the idiotic skins for their converter, player etc away. The entire suit looks like apps were 6 years ago.
Having to install a special webplayer is an anachronism in 2009. Do they really think anyone will choose DivX over Flash or Silverlight for webmovies?
DivX, please die quick!

Indeed noticeably faster than v8. Integration with Acrobat.com could turn out useful in the future.

I absolutely don't need this program. I use Broadcom Bluetooth to use my phone as a modem and to transfer files. To backup/edit/sync calendar, contacts etc I use mobical.net.
Edit: Forgot to mention that the interface looks s***ty.

Intels GMA500 is not supported in this version. What a disappointment. Devices with that chip need accelerated Flash the most.

Apples best days as a computer maker may have already past. Windows 7 with the constant flow of new exciting PC hardware is way more sexy than Apples once a year update to its aluminium bricks. I'd never buy a Mac now that Windows 7 is out.

Are there any hints at when Microsoft might release a feature update for IE8 (I mean IE 8.5 or 9)? What do you think when it will happen?

I wonder whether they'll managed to release 3.5 this year. Now we have the Beta 4. Next are RC1, RC2 etc with a month or two between each release. Their other projects like Mesh and Fennec don't get off the ground either.
IMO it'll be 2010.

Firefox 3.5 is said to come out in 3 months. By that time Chrome 2.0 will be out with add-on support ("by May") and RSS-awareness. Chrome will be superslick like everything from Google.
Firefox is done.
