   I go to Google for web searches and Gmail, but use Yahoo practically for everything else.
   
   I wouldn't classify Yahoo's search as "pathetic", but I do feel like it needs to be tweaked a little bit.

   I agree that it's only a matter of time before AMD will really have to begin handing out pink slips.

   A step in the right direction, maybe, but I think this is still a large marketing ploy by Microsoft. I think public pressure is forcing them to work with open source movements that they would rather crush.

   I have been using the hacked version of Opera for a couple of months, but am happy to see this kind of news finally being announced.

5. Comment - Survey: Big decline seen in US consumer tech spending

   I wonder how much worse it will get as the US economy continues to go downhill. I know people who usually have a dinner and movie night every weekend, but have skimmed that down to just once per month to save money!
   
   It should be interesting to see how much more the tech industry will get whacked.
