Can anyone tell me how to disable explorer preview in Win 2k? regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll doesn't work in Win 2k...

    Error:
"LoadLibrary("shmedia.dll")failed - The specified module could not be found"

  2. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.00 Build 8501 (Jun 20, 2006)

    Simply Amazing!! Kicks ass!!

This is a web browser of the future. One day IE will die, Firefox will die, but Opera will survive.

Agreed it is not the best renderer for some websites, but it is the best for all commonly used websites.

What it lacks in rendering, it makes up in UI. So when it comes to features and moreover customizable features Opera leads the rest.

  3. Review - WinRAR (32-bit)

    3.60 Beta 5 (Jun 18, 2006)

7-zip formats that WinRAR doesn’t support WinRAR formats that 7-zip doesn’t support

    CHM UUE
CPIO ISO (ISO9660 - CD image)
    DEB JAR (Java Archive)
    RPM ACE

Looks pretty equal...except that the ones that WinRar ONLY supports are more common.

The difference in compression ratios is also minor...considering the hard disks volumes you get nowadays.

Eagerly wainting for WinRar to get out of Beta...

  4. Review - Mozilla Firefox for Windows (v2)

    1.5.0.3 (May 2, 2006)

I like the Gecko engine...but the UI is really not great. I know it supports extensions et all but wait till Orca is released. Its in its beta now:

BTW: My current #1 is OPERA !!!!

  5. Review - Dr. DivX

    2.0 Beta 1 (Dec 2, 2005)

Ya..they have made a new site for this... http://www.drdivx.com/

I was really surprised by the UI of Divx Create and wondered how are they expecting people to buy that stuff...Though it may appeal to newbies but what about others...good to know Dr is still alive!!!

  7. Comment - Microsoft to Offer Froogle Competitor

    2.0 Beta 1 (Apr 12, 2006 - 11:20 AM)

After all the mud slinging on Google...Microsoft suddenly seems to be worried and is aping Google's products one by one!!

  8. Comment - Microsoft Targets Lotus Notes, Domino

    2.0 Beta 1 (Jan 17, 2006 - 12:46 PM)

Outlook is the only MS product I really cant think of a reason to hate. Yes...Notes totally sucks compared to Outlook. Our company moved to Outlook even before I could familiarise fully with Notes ;)
But I guess other IBM communication products are really good...Saying this since I havent seen counterparts from MS.

  9. Comment - Opera Browser Takes to the Skies

    2.0 Beta 1 (Nov 1, 2005 - 11:33 AM)

I think such posts (gawd21) should be deleted by the editors. They are not relevant to the subject and are false (Opera is now Freeware).

  10. Comment - Microsoft Testing New Hotmail Interface

    2.0 Beta 1 (Jul 11, 2005 - 9:35 PM)

Hotmail is quite ok compared to other MS products...cos MS acqired it ;) (though long ago).
Good to hear, they are upgrading their UI. I think they are planning for something like "Outlook Web Access" (I really like the way they have made "Outlook Web Access" esp. the 2003 version). Cos all the features mentioned above are available in it.
Just hope they give atleast 1GB of space.
