  1. Comment - Is Google's voice search victim of another App Store 'delay?'

    (Nov 17, 2008 - 11:41 PM)

foxfyre: I didn't mention anything regarding the iPhone being in the enterprise.

Apple makes other products other than the iPhone. And for you to think that App Store Policies doesn't effect the adoptation of the iPhone in the enterprise is ludicrous.

Currently, there are a number of useful business applications in the app store and if a enterprise adopts the use of that application and a critical update is released but nowhere to be found within the app store, then Cupertino we have a problem.

Also, I suggest you do a little more research on the subject at hand before assuming this is the only article on the internet regarding the events that occured.

Finally the negative feedback Apple needed about the App Store. The lack of communication between Apple and the developers of iPhone applications is rude and unprofessional. It clearly shows why Apple does not have a significant share of corporate America's business. Wake up Steve O' and don't push the developers who are helping to increase sales to another platform.

  3. Comment - Why free Wi-Fi could (help) save Starbucks

    (Nov 13, 2008 - 2:48 PM)

Keep the stores clean and lower the profit margin on drinks. Offer 2 hours of free Wi-Fi upon purchase of drink for anyone, by utilizing a passcode on receipt.

They have an excellent product and an excellent atmosphere (who wants to sit at MCDonalds with screaming kids beside the playground and sip on a latte?) The price and lack of free wi-fi seems to be the only thing holding many that enjoys coffee back!

Oh and another thing...Please serve something besides Pikes Place for coffee. What happened to Sumatra and Verona. We realize it might save you money to offer one flavor but we are getting tired of only having one choice...give us a choice...we have came to a coffee shop after all!

"Why or how NetShare made it through the manual review process is not known"...

Are you kidding me? The review process within the app store seems to be non-existent! How many people have downloaded apps that don't even work as described. One recent application (1Password) which has glowing reviews didn't even work upon first download and the annoying fact is that the developers knew it when they posted it to Apple. I'm assuming Apple has a strict submission process but don't follow through with ensuring the applications actually work. It seems as strict as Jobs was on allowing third party applications, he would make this submittal process heavily reviewed and tested before posting to app store.
