  1. Review - Mozilla Firefox for Windows (v2)

    2.0.0.3 (Mar 21, 2007)

"On Windows Vista, IE7 is much better and safer than Firefox".

Based on what? I'm NOT criticising, I'd like qualification because I'm still thinking about moving to Vista.

It has gone downhill how? I am not criticising your review but asking for real input. This is a firewall so it should be hit hard if it has been rendered useless by a company takeover.

I decided to try other firewalls this past weekend after a full system backup. Outlook would not install because it recognised an install of Sunbelt Kerio was installed. This was after a full uninstall of the Sunbelt firewall. That alone pisses me off.

  4. Review - Mozy Remote Backup

    1.6.1.0 Beta (Apr 7, 2006)

A few days ago I noted that I had a problem with this service. Since then the company posted here and asked me to get in touch. I have, and the customer support deserves credit for trying to resolve my issues so many months after the fact. My backups are long gone but I never really lost anything since I mainain full backups on DVD. I wanted to try this as a secondary backup and to make my data available from different locations without having to carry the DVDs with me.

My thanks to the support at Berkeley Data Systems, Inc. for their help.

  5. Review - Mozy Remote Backup

    1.6.0.8 Beta (Apr 5, 2006)

I tried this last year in December. I do backups on my own but thought this would be useful so I backed up my data only folders which means My Documents, a data folder with all of my installed software configurations, and other non-program data. A week later my system died and I bought a new one.

After reinstalling the OS and most used software I decided to check out the Mozy backup to see if there was anything in that backup that I could use.

Their system didn't recognise my id and password and when I wrote to them I was criticised for making only one backup and not having a better backup strategy in mind. They had not idea that all I did was a trial backup.

I felt they went immediately on the defensive and never restored my id or data.

Now that I'm seeing better user experiences here, I think I'll use it again with the idea that it is a secondary backup to my primary DVD+-R backups.
