  1. Review - Hamachi for Windows

    1.0.2.3 (Oct 22, 2007)

It works pretty well. Not sure what problems people are having with wireless networks. I've been using it on my wireless network with my laptop for over a year now. I've never had a problem. At the very least, I'm able to vnc into my laptop via hamachi. However, browsing files has never really worked for me, either.

  2. Review - Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro (32-bit)

    4.0 (1024.700.292) (Jul 1, 2007)

I've owned Outpost for almost a year and has worked great for me. My only complaint is that I noticed for the first time and as of a few days ago, Outpost suddenly was consuming large amounts of memory (150Mb roughly) and behaving very slowly. Clicking its menus and trying to access its options would take about 20 sec delay before responding. I thought that was odd. I looked in forums and no one seems to mention anything about this issue.
Mind you, the issue was happening with the previous version. Everything seems to be back to normal after upgrading to this new version.
I still give it a 5 because overall, it is one of the best firewall softwares I've tried... cheers.

  3. Review - Stellarium for Windows

    0.9.0 (Jun 6, 2007)

    Absolutely brilliant... well done!

  4. Review - UltraEdit

    13.00 (Mar 19, 2007)

Disappointed long-time ultraedit user. Twistpad is my newfound friend... ok, I admit it. It lacks some of the features in ultraedit but it has some pretty darn nice ones of its own. And it's cleaner and lighter!

  5. Review - µTorrent for Windows

    1.6.1 Build 490 (Feb 23, 2007)

TechNoWeb and the MPAA suck... lol

  6. Comment - Dell claims design leadership with Adamo

    1.6.1 Build 490 (Jan 9, 2009 - 11:33 PM)

    oooooooh.... pretty :-)

  7. Comment - Apple claiming iPhone 3G is 'really fast' deemed false by UK regulators

    1.6.1 Build 490 (Nov 26, 2008 - 11:35 PM)

funny thing is... whether or not the ad is misleading, most people in the UK or anywhere else wouldn't care about it and would still buy the iphone lol
As for me, I currently have a windows mobile 3G phone. I already know 3G isn't as fast as depicted in the ad... and well... I'm still getting an iphone when my current contract is up :-)

  8. Comment - Comcast to deploy 250 GB/month usage caps in October

    1.6.1 Build 490 (Aug 31, 2008 - 9:59 AM)

omg you're genius...(no offense either, btw) It was meant to be an approximate number (you're taking this way too seriously). Even if my "approximation" is not precise to the single byte and I didn't get anywhere close to a terabyte, the fact still remains the same. Some of us for one reason or another in my experience, could easily go WAY over the cap in a single week. Enough said.

  9. Comment - Comcast to deploy 250 GB/month usage caps in October

    1.6.1 Build 490 (Aug 30, 2008 - 3:50 PM)

    Yeah, I agree.
I used to freelance from home a few years ago, dealing with massive video files (2Gb+) on a daily basis either from my end or from clients (visual effects, computer graphics stuff). At times, I would end up with close to a terabyte of total data transfer in only a week.
Being with Comcast for about 4 years now, If I ever consider doing this again, I couldn't.

I have officially lost my respect for Comcast. It's become another slimy, greedy hog. At the end, the bandwidth taken from existing customers will probably be resold to new customers or existing customers as "upgrade" packages. Just another way to make more money.

And in case Comcast is listening, which likely they are. As soon as this comes into effect, I will be canceling my internet and cable services (I hope other people do, too) and go pay for inconvenience somewhere else as Comcast will no longer be a convenience. Cheers!

  10. Comment - Google restricts Gmail access in Germany

    1.6.1 Build 490 (Jun 24, 2008 - 11:53 PM)

And one can't watch anything from the BBC website if you're from the US. English friend of mine can't even access BBC video content using his own login to the site whilst in the states.
You'd probably have better luck from Canada for obvious reasons...
I suspect any content restriction is enforced for the very same reason DVDs are zoned.
