  1. Review - RealPlayer for Windows

    11.0.0.183 Beta (Oct 26, 2007)

Rating this a five because it's what I think this application deserves.

This application is much better than the older versions of Real Player (RP 10 and below).

There is only one thing that I wish for Real Player 11, and that is MKV support.

  2. Review - iTunes for Windows

    7.4.3 (Sep 27, 2007)

This is a five because it does what it's advertised to do. If you don't like it, then don't rate it. Simple as that.

  3. Review - RealPlayer for Windows

    11.0.0.181 Beta (Sep 10, 2007)

Ignoring the negative commenting of some of the more uninformed people, I have not had any real problem with Real Player 11.

If you want to use it, go ahead. You don't have to listen to those people that mark this application as a 1. They don't really know what they're talking about. I use RP11 and it works wonderfully.

  4. Review - Microsoft Silverlight for Windows

    1.1 Alpha Refresh (Sep 07) (Sep 5, 2007)

Paul, Microsoft always had V1.1 of Silverlight available since they were doing V1.0 beta. V1.1 is an Alpha, so, since MS was starting the Silverlight project, they had both versions available.

  5. Review - Safari for Windows

    3 Beta (Jun 11, 2007)

This application is a nice application. I like it. It works well on my computer (Windows XP).

  6. Comment - Google adds AIM capabilities to Gmail chat

    3 Beta (Dec 4, 2007 - 5:14 PM)

dstratton, AOL and Google signed an interoperability pact last year for their IM/Chat clients, so, yes, AOL and Google both support this.

AOL will NOT be blocking Google from doing this, and Google will not be blocking AOL from doing this as well.

  7. Comment - Real Launches New Video Player Beta

    3 Beta (Jun 26, 2007 - 2:30 PM)

I suppose you may think so, but it doesn't mean Real Networks is going down. Regardless of what you think of them, they're going to be staying for a long time to come, because people will continue to get their products (I am one of them).

RP11 is a great product. So, whether it's "a decade late and a yen short" or not, it doesn't matter anyway.

  8. Comment - Adobe Reader 8.1 Brings Vista Support

    3 Beta (Jun 7, 2007 - 12:52 PM)

"Well, shame on Adobe that so big corporation needs so much time to implement some basic compatibility. I have to say that there are many replacements like Foxit PDF Reader, Sumatra PDF or PDF-XChange PDF Viewer. PDF-XChange has even some Adobe Acrobat functionality, supports multicore rendering, needs far less resources. And all above are free."

Just because one would find other alternatives useful, it doesn't mean that they're better. Also, making an excuse that the alternatives are "free" just compounds the error, since Adobe Reader is also free as it says on the Adobe site, and elsewhere.

I don't really care for the "alternatives" since they're most likely knock-offs of the original. It's better to use an original program (i.e: Adobe Reader) than some knock-off.

I have not and will not use any knock-offs, including the much-touted Foxit PDF reader. I will stick with Adobe's reader, since it's way better than the alternatives (as it is my opinion, you can agree with it or not, but I will still say the alternatives pale in comparison).

  9. Comment - Firefox Continues to Gain Market Share

    3 Beta (Dec 19, 2006 - 11:23 AM)

I use FF and IE, and I see no difference in anything.. who cares about Opera anyway.. just a load of rubbish. I will never again have that thing on my computer.. I tested it, and I despise it. I love IE7.. so much better than 99.9% of the browsers out there.

  10. Comment - MS Set to Deliver Visual Studio Service Pack

    3 Beta (Dec 15, 2006 - 10:02 AM)

It also doesn't make clear what VS version, whether it be Express or the others. I use Express, and already downloaded the SP1 for it..
