   Review - EnZip

   I've been ysunbg Enzip for almost a year now and have to say that it's amazing. It's small, fast, and free. Although it can't handle all of the formats that Winzip can, it doesn't need too. It creates useful self extractor that can extract a program, and then run the app you extracted for you (useful for multi-file installers). It's interface is just enough to be functional, without all of Winzip's useless baggage. I use it for all my Zipping/Unzipping needs in Windows. If I need ot extract a RAR or a TAR/GZ archive, i just use WINRAR,jar for jar files, and arj for arj files. But, Enzip does it's one purpose so well, it blows the competition away. If I didin't need other formats, I would only use EnZip.

   Yay! The users of Napster will be getting access again! And Napster is an ISp, it provides an service on the internet (hmmm...almost fits the description of an internet service provider exactly). If the RIAA can take down napster, then I guess that everyone who has a server is going down. Why? Well, they are ISP's (They provide internet services), and they don't know if illegal files are being transferred over their network. Shut down your sendmail servers admins! Someonme might be sending pirated wares in an email! Turn off your webservers hosts! There might be warez sites on your server! Turn off your computer users! Why? Because you have commaercial software, and someone could crack your box and copy it! Maybe the RIAA will use this as a reason to shut down the entire internet. Oh, I have one more: Every single person that has made an MP3 from their legally purchased CD's -- delte them now! Why? Your not allowed to make digital copies of musak! Why? the RIAA says so! And, don't question what they say, because since they have money, they surely must be right. I mean, when has a corpratist group of monopolies ever been WRONG? When? You know the answer. I don't have to spell it out. The RIAA is juts about as good as M$ is. They wan't to take down the entire internet. If napster isn;t an ISP, then what makes anybody think they are an ISP? Well, they aren't. Why? Napster isn;'t an ISP. Why does this matter? Napster is the same as a dialup servie like AOL or earthlink. All they do is allow users to conenct to a server, and then talk to other clients. What does IRC do? hmmmm... What does the web do? hmmmm... What does AOl do? hmmmm.... What does tripod do? hmmmm... They all let users talk to each other and trade files! I can set up a website with pirated MP3's now. It would be up for at least a week. Then, I could move it. Napster doesn't pose a threat to the RIAA. Napster is not a webite! And, Lars, you have no right to use pirating to gain an audience, and then take those same people you encouraged to pirate to court. It;s not right. You condoned it, and now when it's convienient, you don't. Hippocrit.

4. Comment - US Officially Asks for Microsoft Breakup

   I came to a realization a few months ago. Nobody uses Microsoft Office so they can use Windows. They use Windows so they can run Microsoft Office. So, why isn't the a Macintosh Version of Office up to speed with The Windows Version? Why aren't any Microsoft applications available on QNX, BeOS, Linux, BSD, or AIX? Yes, MS Internet Explorer 3.0 is available for Solaris and HPUX, but it's version 3.0, and crippled compared to the Windows or Macintosh versions. I can tell you why: people don't use Office to run Windows. If Microsoft released all of their programs for other Operating systems, then There would be no need for Windows. Microsoft forces users to use Windows. I would be one of the first people to buy Microsoft Office if it was released for linux or QNX, but I simply use TeX/LaTeX or StarOffice. I am all for The breakup. This might bring a new era of innovation. Who knows, maybe Visual Basic for linux in 5 years? I am all for it. then people who make their VB apps can make them croos platform. Maybe the new applications company will create a new crossplatform API like Gtk+? I would be very happy then. The world will not care of Windows Passes. Trust me. After the split up, people will no longer be reliant on Windows. Then Microsoft will be what it originally was : A software company (remember when all thgey made was MS-BASIC interperter?).

   LINUX IS NOT BAD. and windows isn't better than linux. linux is faster, more stable, and all that stuff. Windows is easier to set up, and never needs to be messed with(most of the time...but it screwes up alot, and you need to reinstall/format sometimess...linux, i just recompiel the kernel with whatever i left out, or i edit hte file i screwed up). the MacOS is my favorite OS(i used wiondows first, hated it, then was exposed ot macOS 8 -- droooolllll.... i need ot get a better mac that my PMac 7100/66 though-- but it does OS 8.1 fast as hell, and runs a few image editors(like photoshop 4.0,m and MacDraw), a good HTNL editor(BBedit lite and pagespinner), a sound editor(forgot the name...but it's cool), fronteir(the scripting/. programming/everything app), and Communicator 4.6; ALL AT THE SAME TIME!) But, linux is a lot more customizable. i can choose from hundreds of shells, a couple dozen Window managers(i use fvwm2, and im the catedgory edoter(mentalspice) over at dmoz. just search for fvwm at htpp://dmoz.org ), and i can use themes with each WM(i have a few dozen fvwm2 and KDE themes). plus, i can makle a process i dont like take up less CPU time. and with the builtin webserver, i can test the SSI on my page wothout uplaoding! granted, you could do the themes and SSI test with most other OS's, but it all comes with it. Plus, it's all free. I've found tons o apps on freshmeat.net that do the same things as mac/win apps, but for free, and with sourcecode! so, sometimes, commercial software is good, but if there is a free version that can do it as fast or faster, and just as good(or better), than i'll use it. i use the GIMP for webgraphics, but if i were(which i dont) to make print graphics, i would use photoshop(the GIMP doesn't do CMYK). so, try linux before you bash it. i used to think that the macOS was the worst thing ever. then i used it. linux, sucked to, until i used it. So, use it for a few months, then judge it. Every OS has it's faults(yes, even linux), and it's great parts.

   Actually, NT 3.5 was on the PPC, but was quickly canceled. The Itanium sucks. It may be 64-bits, but the moment you start a 32-bit app, it has to switch into 32-bit emulation mode, preventing you from running any 64-bit apps(which means your 64-bit OS will cease to work whgen you try to run a 32-bit app). The Athlon is not 64-bit. It is actually a sorta-PPC at heart. It uses motorala technology in it(the g4 copper interconnct, the RISC core, etc.). And, 3DNow! is a ector acceleration unit(like altivec aka the velocity engine). So, the Athlon pushes out gigaflops(like the G4). The only thing is, while motorola went with planning the proccesor to eliminate as many transistors an use as littel power as possible(the chip only uses about 3watts, and gets to about 100 degrees F. the Athlon gets to several hundred degrees, and uses 40 watts. that's why the iMac doesn't have a fan), the AMD people threw transitors at it. And, the 200Mhz bus is what motorla has been using since the g3 days(late 96), called the maxBus. The maxbus is 200Mhz and 64-bits, but Apple still doesn't use it(even though the processors are designed for it). But, the RAM isn't 64-bit, or 200Mhz, so the RAM slows the whole thing down(on the PC, so does the ISA slot; it locks up about 40% of your computing power). The Athlon actually runs software on the processor to convert x86 to internal RISC. and the Alpha is still alive, has been at 1Ghz for 3 years now, and Compaq is selling some european government a 1.5Ghz by 500 processor supercomputer. The Alpha is expensive. so, no one really makes stuff for it. But, linux actually does run on it. In 64-bit native mode. and if you have the DOOM source,and the art, you can play DOOM on it.

   you are a horrible person.
   number 1. microsoft stole it's UI from Apple! apple stole a littel from XeroX.
   2: Office is bad. Wordperfect/corel office are better. they are more stable, and run on linux, macOS, and windows. and, all the versions are equal now(mac users only had 2.7, then version 9 was ported).
   3: ever used linux with the KDE?! easy. easier than windows some might say. and, it's never crashed on me. for the past 60 days i've had it running.
   4: everything is based on DOS. microsoft bought DOS from a company down the street(or a few hundred miles) from them. they didn't even write what started their monopoly.
   5: why does macOS 9 upgrade(from any version, starting with system 7, becasue it wont run on computer made before system 7.5) only cost $69, and the full version $99? when windows cost 99 for the upgrade, and 120 for the full version?
   6: linux is free, and has no maximum user count. neither does BSD, or most other unices. no, why is it that the winNT server costs $10,000 for a 25 user liscence?! why!
   7: Microsoft copies anything it sees, then makes it part of the OS, and doesn't let you uninstall. according to my fresh, brand new issue of macworld, Microsoft is now gonna steal iMovie from Apple. it's gonna be called the windows media editor(not official name), and, of course it will be bundled for free with wondows(mac users just buy an iMac. or, they get the thousand dollar final cut pro).
   8: mozilla is better. java is better thatn J(java runs on all OS's, J only runs on windows). Internet explorer is really just spyglass mosaic, but reproggramed(M$ screwed spyglass baD. they bought the code, but don't pay the 50 buck a copy liscence fee they are supposed too).
