2.4.3 (Jan 10, 2010)
too simplistic:
1. doesn't burn multisession discs, either CDs or DVDs (will load session but any burn attempt will end up with meaningless error)
2. formating/writing to DVD-RW takes ages, cancel not possible
3. does not remember settings, need to set filesystem (ISO/UDF) or characters depth all the time and again and again
after so many patches, I expected something more robust... (installed it for not-so-knowledgable users), Nero is still the king (until imgburn updates its horrible multi-zillion-tab interface)
2.1.4 (Sep 26, 2009)
I'm repairing my review, giving it an average 3 now (5+1)/2=3
_must_ have when running media center (though I would still run it in 32 bit mode due to all sorts of problems 64bit codecs/appz are giving you, it's not fault of this bundle though), absolutely not needed when you don't want to use built-in Windows Media Player...
use MPC HC instead, which is simply the best windows media player, and doesn't need any codecs...(and no, VideoLAN "died" for me, KMPlayer doesn't even come close to latest MPC HC)
7.50 Release Candidate 1 (Aug 14, 2009)
facts:
Internet Explorer 3 support
Windows 95 support
No 64 bit version
Not even an NT only version
outdated Delphi platform (long dead and unsupported with its own library bugs)
archaic code concepts
obscure bugs in TC and slow progress in developement (unicode in the year 2009? joking are we?) due to programmer incopetence to learn (and rewrite it) and usage of outdated tools (any avarage programmer is willing to master at least one new language (and platform) in 2 years )
I PAYED for the lifetime product updates so I DEMAND 64bit version and I am not alone, it is on his forum for a couple of years (with answers a Kid would not produce). So give me my money back Mr. Ghisler!
thanks God there are many developers to whom C++ or at least C# isn't a problem to learn and are developing their applications in cutting edge development tools with modern libraries, where progress is a breeze, support almost not needed and you won't be hunt by obscure bugs or win95 .exe support on your fresh new 64bit windows7 OS...
thats facts girls, and I literally grew up with TC (well until win2003 64bit)...
so go and download any 64bit file manager, you be surprised that it is really year 2009 today!
note to myself: can't understand developer trying to have fun in coding (that's you Ghisler) and still being hunt by a mistake which Delhi was...C# offers so many advantages one can't count (not to mention first idea was "delphi on drugs") plus developing it is fun again (and true OOP won't plague your product with funny bugs once you learn how to code), if you're not willing to go true C++ way (would kill ghisler straight away)
I wonder if it still installs to c:\totalcmd by default, or is using no true type (or open type) fonts on its interface because win95 can't handle it, how moronic is that in the year 2009?
for anyone else, go read history.txt and grab your head in amazement how are some things even possible to do:)
2.6.31-rc1 (Jul 5, 2009)
tried on Windows Se7en RC1 b7100 - FAILED, even builds 7260 or 7264, no chance

Typical Linux users. Download, unpack, compile. Don't think, just follow. As sheeps. Then blame micro$oft (don't forget $) and never figure out why they have 1% of market share on Desktop (or not even 1). Allways have (meaningless) argument of zero malware on their beloved "OS", just in case somebody, sometimes, in this universe, will care.
hello im a linux user
and I feel alone
world must be broken fix ya?
linux is washing your mind out
e.g. it was a joke dude!
1? because as a Desktop OS it is a horrible s*** from a architectural standpoint (X Window system, monolithic kernel) down to a usability (KDE alpha quality or Gnome 1999 outlook) with applications support lacking one century behind what is already avaiable in windows world. Oh, that's kernel... nevermind though ;p
1.2.4 (Jun 18, 2009)
unless you want to use built-in media player (worst player in the universe) and use its direct-x capabilities (which this codec improves) you don't need this bloatware...
as has been said, get mpc HC or VideoLAN (I prefer the former) which have all codecs inside of them and you can even select which one to use.
there was an age where divx was a new word for almost every other player out there, but now vast majority of players can handle everything, and if it can't, this thing will NOT help you.
it will just make your system feel more "fatty"

That was one kick-ass article Joe, too bad I'm reading betanews as:

wish all "posters" had your writing quality / insight
as a developer, one thing to note, Azure is more advanced (and worth looking) than Amazon services in one thing, databases... amazon isn't offering anything on this front (and no, simpleDB isn't real DB at all ;-)
1.2.4 (Aug 2, 2009 - 6:40 AM)
the only thing that amaze me from your comments dude is, how did you manage to get score -2 on all your comments (sometimes surprisingly only -1).
by now it should be around minus one billion, well, at least..
btw Mr. high IQ, in OEM activation there's no internet involved...wow
1.2.4 (Jul 15, 2009 - 6:59 AM)
along with another $0.10 per 10,000 transactions, over and above the bandwidth charge.
an error, it is $0.01 per 10k, according to sources (so dollar per one million), at least this is bearable...
1.2.4 (Jul 15, 2009 - 5:08 AM)
Microsoft will charge $0.15 per gigabyte of storage per billing period
haha what a sick prices! Now we know where Microsoft will find its GOLDRUSH era!
with HDDs now being sold almost for free (I bough myself 4TB RAID for few bucks) Microsoft will charge you, say, for 4TB of data storage (which is nothing in cloud computing) 600 dollars!!!!!
imagine billing period is 1 month, it means you just payed your 4TB HDDs monthly, and again, and again, and again...
they can't be serious, I don't care they will argue with backups, NFS or anything, the pricing per storage is ridiculous high, Rapidshare or Youtube would be dead already being apps in the cloud...
so what is the point of cloud apps then? 6 thousand dollars for average 40TB of storage? YOU, MICROSOFT, MUST BE SICK !!!!

try better privacy:
https://addons.mozilla.org/sk/firefox/addon/6623
to the article, you can't really compare an unstable browser (Chrome) to a stable PLATFORM (Firefox 3.5).
it is like comparing your small yacht with a USS Enterprise ship, both sail, that's about it...
and trusting Google in privacy, what a joke, google lives from advertisement...
