  1. Review - Nero

    9.4.12.3d (Aug 28, 2009)

How is "bloatware" a problem? If your PC is so weak, or your drive is so small that more features and the associated disk space is a problem, you shouldn't be assembling and burning CD's, and particularly not DVD's with it.

If the interface were cluttered, then I'd take it down a star or two, but it's not!

Is OpenOffice.org "bloatware." Think a little before you pile on the buzz-word wagon.

  2. Review - Adobe Flash Player for Windows

    10.0.32.18 (Jul 30, 2009)

Install download quits on Win7 with Flash Player 9. Still no Flash Player for 64-bit systems. Hey, Adobe, it's a new millennium! Wake up!

  3. Review - ATI Catalyst Drivers for Windows 7

    9.6 (Jun 15, 2009)

Hey, maybe they're a little faster, but so far, no problems....

That's right, NO problems on a new OS (Win7). Rather exceptional, in my experience.

  4. Review - AnyDVD HD

    6.5.5.7 Beta (Jun 9, 2009)

It works. Stand alone wouldn't get to the low-level DRM that cause many DVD's to be unreadable!

Free upgrades forever, and did I mention that... it works!? I will!

  5. Review - RoboForm

    6.9.94 (Apr 8, 2009)

Been using it for years, and it just keeps getting better. The goodsync websync agent is a welcome, and free, upgrade.

I have a lot of accounts, and a lot of web forms to fill in with personal data, and I'd be lost without RoboForm. RoboForm, even the USB and U3 versions (which are amazing) is as secure as you want it to be.

  6. Comment - First Windows 7 RTM code available August 6

When will average joe beta testers will be able to download it?

  7. Comment - Windows Mobile 6.5 to launch at TechEd 2009

    6.9.94 (Apr 21, 2009 - 9:47 AM)

I tell people that you know you're running Windows on your phone when it crashs evert couple of days.

I've had my WM 6.0 Moto q9m for a while now on Verizon. Microsoft doesn't issue updates for phones, they just give the new OS builds to the OEM's for them to customize for their particular phones.

Motorola hasn't issued an upgrade to 6.1 for the q9m. If they think that will make me more likely to buy a new Motorola phone, they're crazy!

I'm gonna check out the Palm Pre. If I like it, I'm switching to Sprint. If I don't like the Pre, it's iPhone on aTT for meQ

  8. Comment - Tesla rakes in over $2.6 million from Model S reservations

    6.9.94 (Apr 4, 2009 - 10:36 AM)

How will city dwellers, and others without garages, charge the battery? How does the cost of enough of a charge to go 230 miles compare with 10 or more gallons of gas?

  9. Comment - Internet Explorer 8 can be turned off in Windows 7

    6.9.94 (Mar 9, 2009 - 1:05 PM)

I don't want to turn off IE 8. I just want to be able to run IE 7, as some code, e.g. some Google Gadgets, are not compatible with IE 8, and I'm sorry, but IE has too much going for it for me to drop it completely.

  10. Comment - Teacher must still surrender license in bizarre 'exposure to porn' suit

    6.9.94 (Dec 2, 2008 - 10:15 AM)

Teachers, as the interface between government and family, have always born the brunt of Calvinist witch-hunts. Does the Scopes trial ring a bell?

Check out the movie "Inherit the Wind." A documentary should be made on the Amero case: "Inherit the Internet."
