  1. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.0 Build 8371 Beta (Apr 19, 2006)

The information is incorrect. This is NOT a Beta version... this is still a pre-beta version, in fact; the Opera Desktop Team called it a "Beta RC". So you should expect to see a true beta in another week or two if we are lucky.

This is also the reason you don't see it listed on http://snapshot.opera.com (the beta site). You'll find the information on this version at http://my.opera.com/desktopteam

The alpha versions of Opera have always been great, and I usually use them on my main system instead of the latest [public] released version.

  2. Review - Opera for Windows

    8.50 (Sep 20, 2005)

Opera has always been a great browsers. Power, speed, security. It has it all.

  3. Review - Google Talk

    1.0.0.64 Beta (Aug 24, 2005)

Pretty basic in form, but I guess that's the point of beta. Find the bugs, fix the bugs, and add more down the road. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Will be nice to see how this works out.

  4. Review - Opera for Windows

    8.10 Preview 2 (Jul 30, 2005)

You really couldn't ask for a better internet suite. Yes, Opera is more than just a browser. ;)

  5. Review - Xfire

    1.43 Beta (Jul 30, 2005)

Probably the best thing to happen to gamers since games! :) It keeps getting better and better with every update.

  6. Comment - Firefox Usage Passes 15 Percent in US

    1.43 Beta (Jul 11, 2006 - 6:33 AM)

"IE and Opera are not free software."

You are wrong on both. You can download Opera for free and use it at home, work, school, wherever. Just go to http://opera.com/download/ and get your free copy.

IE is also free. Granted, you have to buy Windows, but IE is still free. http://www.microsoft.com...8de6&DisplayLang=en

Perhaps you have confused "free" with open source. Those two things are very different.

  7. Comment - Free Opera Hits 1 Million Downloads

    1.43 Beta (Sep 26, 2005 - 7:34 AM)

As of this morning Opera 8.5 has passed 2.1 Million downloads. :)

  8. Comment - Opera Web Browser Goes Freeware

    1.43 Beta (Sep 20, 2005 - 12:51 PM)

I've seen a lot of complaints on other news sites already from people who purchased Opera here recently. Anyone who purchased Opera in the last 30 days is eligible for a full refund.

  9. Comment - Google Desktop Search Gets Sidebar

    1.43 Beta (Aug 23, 2005 - 9:12 AM)

I wish there was some way to increase the front size on it though. I'm running 1600x1200 and can hardly see the text in the widgets. It's easier once they are opened up, but still not great.

The more ability we get to customize it, the better it'll be IMO. It's only BETA, so they've got room to tweak.

Still no Picasa integration or support for multiple GMail accounts. :(

  10. Comment - Opera Goes 'Mini' for Mobile Phones

    1.43 Beta (Aug 10, 2005 - 1:12 PM)

If Cingular ever offers this, I'd be all over it. Like OafyC, the browser on my Moto needs improvement.
