  1. Review - Opera for Windows (Beta)

    10.00 Build 1708 Beta (Aug 14, 2009)

Those who know dont talk. Those who talk dont know a thing...

If you dont like the 'crap', why stop by to write a review ? You are the fanboy.

Let the ones who use this, continue to recommend it to the few folks, who are prepared to try things, and see for themselves.

The software works, to its own huge and very independent merit. Not too many opera users can be bored enough to write FF reviews for example.

    goodluck.

To anyone with an open mind, and looking for web efficiency - this browser works. Its email client is 5*** if you imap it with gmail and you dont have to find plugins here and ther to do basic things.

If you try it and don't find it efficient, feel free to ditch it. But dont until you have actually tried it.

    goodluck.

  2. Review - cFosSpeed

    4.53 Build 1532 Beta (Jul 29, 2009)

This program encourages illegal downloading using bittorrent, etc

That is so retarded. I am usually a nice guy.

  3. Review - Opera for Windows (Beta)

    10.00 Build 1631 Beta (Jul 14, 2009)

I started using this browser, stuck on a dial up link somewhere in the heart of Africa around 2001. It was a night s***, and all systems was working fine, so surfing around, I stumbled on the then Opera theme " the fastest Internet browser, or so"

And then I thought, let's see. After 1 or 2hours of waiting to grab the download, I was instantly blowin away at the performance. I think it was ver 5 or 6.

Sooner had I discovered what is singly the most-amazing-piece of BROWSER functionaltiy == mouse Gestures, I found myself reading its help files -which to be honest is the finest way to actually get-a-grip-on what this browser is capable of.

I found about the links panel (press f4), found about the donwload manager and the zoom functionality (numPad + / - ) and then email client named M2.

I personally don't get the arguement about this is better or that is best regarding browsers, its all down personal preference, but one must not be ignorant.

If anyone thinks FF or IE or Safari is a better performing browser compared to Opera (for their workflow, none of those is as fast as Opera 10 - ditch the benchmarks ) then that is fine, for as long as they have actual competence on what Opera can do.

And the email client (it used to be very buggy, so I stopped using it) + gmail imap is simply the most under-announced piece of internet technology on the entire internet (you heard it from me).

The fact that it indexes your entire email collection on the fly without reverting to that nonsensical desktop-search the 500GB! (joking) Outlook 2007/6/10 alternatives is just plain amazing once you try it. Well, it doesnt come with a calendar, but I do that on a proper paper and pencil so there you go.

The userscripts (Opera's implementation of Firefoxs' greasemonkey scripts) are less featured - this is definietely a downside as I find that a couple of scripts I am willing to use to 'enhance' few things dont usually work out of the box.

That said, this thing just makes the Internet a truly beautiful way. As Nas said, those who talk

  4. Review - cFosSpeed

    4.51 Build 1486 Beta (Mar 12, 2009)

I have used this software over the last 1 year, and being one who uses p2pTV, live Radio, and heavy downloading on my 2MB connection, I can categorically say the software does what it promises.

If you are a mere websurfer - doing only emails and www, you probably dont need this application. But if you do multiple things on your broadband connection, you cannot go wrong with cfosspeed installed.

Dont mind all the n00b giving one liner reviews - with no idea what they are talking about.

Its a decent application and it even shines on dial ups.

  5. Comment - Opera 10 Final released, bringing back 'turbo' mode

    4.51 Build 1486 Beta (Sep 1, 2009 - 10:15 PM)

The reason I use Opera. & love it.
    1. Mouse Gestures - Its addictive and god! terrific. try it. If you dont like it, pass.
    2. Automatic Email Indexing - Now I dont have to crap up my desktop with windows desktop search or google search just so I can keyword-search my emails down the years. with Imap + gmail, the M2 client is just absolutely beautiful.
    3. Simplicity, I need to save some text, its F4, and I can use the notes. and it follows me around.
    4. speed, Opera is fast.

Well done Opera team. I hope someday you add a userscript manager for us, as that truly is a missing feature, as it makes it harder to run those little scripts...
