  1. Review - LAME

    3.98.2 (Nov 20, 2009)

Kudos, LAME is one of best projects ever, one with the widest impact on the digital life of everyone!

  2. Review - Opera for Windows

    10.10 Build 1778 Beta (Sep 20, 2009)

Opera is the best browser around, light, fast, nice looking, contains a lot of innovative functions like mouse gestures and the rapid access page.
It integrate also a very good mail manager, a lot lighter than Thunderbird, very easy to setup and to backup.
Opera is also quite easy to turn into a portable application (pre-packed USB version exists), and the non-beta 10 release already available: a must have!

  3. Review - PeaZip for Windows

    2.7 Beta (Aug 28, 2009)

"Still obscure buttons sitting on the status bar like Clipboard, bookmarks and history. WHY are they there?!"
Hmm... maybe to show clipboard, bookmarks and history? :)
Some apps hide them in menu, IMHO too scarcely visible, some others show them on the top, IMHO is intrusive, some on the left or right, which is fine for me, some at the bottom, which is fine too, expecially is the page layout is horizontal like in PZ's file manager.
In general, top or bottom is better than left or right for implementing a two pane view for all file managers using a view similar to Windows' "details", like PZ, the opposite is true for vertical priority views, like Windows' "view icons".

  4. Review - VMware Server for Windows

    2.0 Build 84186 Beta 2 (Apr 7, 2009)

The user interface is bad, slow, unusable, memory hungry, the download is huge 10-20 times bigger than other virtualization solutions.
It don't work properly in many browsers, is not integrated at all in the system's look and feel, don't use standard system's dialogs making managing the VM incredibly unintuitive and uneasy, it annoys users with many requests and does not prompt some show stopping critical errors the user need to know.
It does not even work properly with 64 bit guests, and the clueless interface doe not allow users know why.
This is the worst virtualization software eve made, the worst user interface ever appeared: please VMware, give euthanasy to this horrible thing and release a decent 3.0 version, even a pre-pre-pre-alpha one with a real GUI and CL interface is welcome!

  5. Review - PeaZip for Windows

    2.6 Beta (Apr 7, 2009)

@ staff u don't mod messages, right? Right?
