  1. Review - Snowl

    0.1 (Aug 8, 2008)

As talked about in the comments section of the Beta News story about Snowl, it need not be a fixed part of FireFox.

Snowl right now is an extension (add-on) and...

Linux:(look for it in the "view" menu under "message list" ) not quite the best location.
    Win: ...anybody?

As Snowl stands right now, it is a functional early beta RSS reader that utilizes some tab functionality (but not all)

..is integrated into the RSS subscribe button in the FF address bar.

...opens with sidebar (for feed subs) and split browser window for viewing feed titles and feed short description with links to actual content.

there is OPML support for importing RSS subs from other readers.

No IM integration at this point.
I would like to see IM in tabs of some sort (perhaps along bottom of browser for something different)

otherwise it works and hasn't crashed yet.

  2. Comment - Mozilla Labs considers grafting IM onto Firefox

    0.1 (Aug 8, 2008 - 12:45 PM)

so far...Snowl is an extension. I think it needs to remain that way.
Obviously very early beta and needs to support ability to open FEED results in new tabs very soon.

It didn't crash FF when installed or cause any other issues that I could see.

I am surprised to see that only 9 people have tried it and yet 30 of you have negative opinions...hmmm

  3. Comment - Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 goes live

    0.1 (Mar 6, 2008 - 8:43 PM)

This was exciting until I saw the screen shot.

I run into people everyday that absolutely hate the layout of IE7.
I hate the fact that you can't alter it in any useful way.
Essentially MS thinks that their users are stupid and have no need to personally customize or streamline their Internet browser.
