1.5 (May 3, 2004)
hmmm. i like the idea, but i have 2 problems with this: #1) no custom install. i don't need half the patches included as i don't have SCSI, PCMCIA, Firewire, etc. and don't want unrequired files on my computer stuffing things up.i would suggest using a different installer with options such as:"All Patches", "SCSI Patches", "FireWire Patches","Network Patches" (etc). #2) i unpacked the installer (just to get the files i needed) and found that not all the patches are complete! for instance, the wordperfect patch (kb#827656) is supposed to be included, but the wordperfect filter is missing! it's not right to say "we can patch X" when not all the files are there! Shows a lot of promise though.
1.5.0 Beta 1 (Feb 5, 2004)
Works well in opera, has some "issues" with firebird, but i think i can fix that...when i get around to it :)
and no it's not slow.
10.0 Beta (Jan 8, 2004)
i've been running this for a day now (i found it before it was submmitted here) i was a bit wary of it, but decided that to get support for the new video formats i had to install it (or get real alternative, which i think is barely-legal). I think this is the best version of Realplayer yet, you can quite easily tell it not to re-associate filetypes (and you only need to tell it once) i didn't find any annoying pop-ups or ads. the fact is that real has been listening to the critics and made those changes for your benifit. it's really easy to stop the player from sending information to providers / tech support.
it doesn't install any spyware / adware. it actually looks good. if you have quicktime installed you can play quicktime files through it. it's also my understanding that the latest version of Media Player Classic works with realplayer 10, and i haven't found anything to suggest otherwise. all in all i think it's a terrific player that is everything realplayer should've been in the first place.
2.2 (Jan 2, 2004)
the program is 6.2Mb (just a bit bigger than what the advertised size is). otherwise it's not too bad.
7.50 Preview 1 Build 3494 (Dec 20, 2003)
interface is different, not much, i think it looks good.
the panels are interesting an interesting idea. i think the idea of a built-in chat client is interesting too. it's a bit more a "technology preview" than the standard opera.
7.50 Preview 1 Build 3494 (Apr 4, 2003 - 12:38 AM)
i think you'll find the .1 (subwoofer) will be at the back
and the 7 will be 3 on the left / 3 on the right 1 at the front or back.
personally i think it more interesting to see if these microsoft theaters bluescreen right at the good bit :)
