4.73 Build 31306 Beta (Oct 20, 2009)
It still blocks more ads and other annoying web nasties than any other product - free or otherwise. Just try it for yourself, I'm willing to put money on it!
4.73 Build 30615 Beta (Apr 5, 2009)
Wow guys. It isn't about refusing to release lists to the previous version. The new beta carries the support needed for the new lists, 4.72 does not. Let me re-iterate what I just said, 4.72 cannot load and use the new lists.
In other words, stop moaning and groaning and update to the latest version - you have absolutely nothing to lose! Thank you to the devs for the latest and greatest ad remover program in the world!
6.4.6.7 Beta (Sep 16, 2008)
AnyDVD has a life time update policy, not upgrades as you can read here: http://www.slysoft.com/en/purchase.html. The HD compatibility is an upgrade, not an update. Let me say this again, the HD component is an upgrade, not an update. And as such, you have to buy the upgrade.
I lurk on their forum quite a bit so I know what is going on. If there is a bug with AnyDVD, they fix it. I can't stress that enough. I haven't seen any bugs which haven't been dealt with one way or another.
AnyDVD allows you to use any other ripper (besides its own). With AnyDVD enabled in the background you can use DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, CloneDVD2, Nero Recode, etc etc. Heck, I am sure if you disabled all of DVDFabs decrypting options you could use AnyDVD to do all the hard work.
Anyway, this is another great release. My home theatre system has been updated and all is fine!
5.0.8.0 Beta (Aug 6, 2008)
Frequently produces bad rips which cannot be processed with compliant DVD software (DVD Rebuilder PRO).
It has also made the Hall of Shame list for its role in stealing open sourced work. Good job DVDFab. Stealing is as low as you can get in the programming world.
http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/shame.html
p.s. stealing open sourced work and not following the licenses and backing up DVDs you own are TWO totally separate things.

@Dudeboyz
"Although Slysoft had promised "Free Lifetime Upgrades", they reneged on that promise and decided to charge users extra if they wanted to be able to rip Blu-Ray and HD DVD disks, so it's not like they don't have enough cash to hire staff to correct the problem."
They promise lifetime updates, not upgrades. HD and Bluray are upgrades. No "reneging" at all.
"DVDFab HD Decrypter (which is still 100% free software, even though they do have nag screens) added support for Blu-Ray and HD DVD ripping without charging users a dime and since DVDFab HD Decrypter is a stand-alone EXE, it doesn't get in the way of packet writing drivers at all."
DVDFab HD Decrypted has not updated the HD/Bluray part for ages. And as such, cannot decrypt many movies out there.
Also, AnyDVD HD does all its magic on-the-fly, DVDFab needs to rip it first (if it can).
Regarding the InCD etc thing, I contacted the devs (something I have never seen you do) and they told me the only problems you would have would be with VERY old versions of InCD etc. Until somebody reports a problem, there is nothing to be fixed by the devs. Think about it...

Since when does a browser 'supplement' an OS? I don't see any browser performing most of an OS's duty. A browser is a browser.
It's amazing how many people read articles differently.

I use Maxthon and so do my parents. We never get any problems in regards to spyware etc. What does that mean?
6.4.5.9 (Sep 13, 2007 - 8:29 PM)
Not true. It is constantly being updated.
