Great time saver. Very nice. Thanks!

  2. Review - VirtualBox

    1.5.0 (Sep 3, 2007)

If there is one piece of software I am going to review it is this. I wished I had dumped VMWare much earlier. Don't get me wrong - VMWare is good and has been serving me well for years but on my primary box (Thinkpad T61p) this feels like real hardware compared to software emulation. The new seamless view in 1.5 is also amazing. RDP remote access and many other features top it off - for free in non commercial use!

It appears this need proxy support or at least use the IE proxy settings - Cannot connect.
2 points because I like the idea.

  4. Review - Yahoo! Messenger for Windows

    8.1.0.401 (Jun 10, 2007)

It would be great if ppl would back up their claims with any substance or at least not make ridiculous claims.

The update is recognized within YIM, about 200k in size and updated inline - you do NOT d/l the whole thing.

I happen to like the emoticons best of any alternative messenger. They are nicely designed with good proportions and some are well animated.

I could do without the bloat and currently have no use for the plugins.

However you can always use the Yahoo Mail inline messenger or the new Yahoo Web messenger...

Ask D-Link: When will the DIR-855 announced 1 year ago finally be in stores?

Ask Microsoft: When will 'Surface' based products begin to surface?

  8. Comment - Can Microsoft Make Vista More Compelling?

    8.1.0.401 (Oct 27, 2007 - 2:44 PM)

Yes, we can probably safely assume that MS have designed Vista so it will be most effective on hardware going forward rather than backward. Obviously the OS does feel slower than XP on identical hardware but there is a lot more going on. This will become less and less noticeable with new generation hardware. Once you are within an application application (which is what really matters) there is hardly a difference.

  9. Comment - Xbox 360 Top Console in September

    8.1.0.401 (Oct 22, 2007 - 8:27 AM)

I don't really care about the usual X360 / PS3 bashing on this site except for the occasional amusement.

However, I am not amused by display of lack of intelligence, resulting in waste of my time. One of many examples is the post above where some kid chides the company - which is the clear market leader - over his preference for pursuing their strategy. It should be illegal to be so dumb.

Is there any way to pay you off with bubble gum or something else keeping you challenged to refrain from publishing your opinion going forward?
