  1. Review - Become Happy

    4.6 (Jun 27, 2008)

it ought to make the seller happy. I think I will be happier to keep my money.

  2. Review - Desktop Sidebar

    1.05 Beta Build 116 (Apr 17, 2008)

    good sidebar.

    pros: --it is free
    --it is flexible
--it has a small memory footprint (much smaller than Google or Yahoo sidebars)
--has good modules (the stack is very good... enabling several modules to fit into one)

    cons:
--there are prettier ones out there

  3. Review - Super Utilities Professional

    8.0.1983 (Apr 17, 2008)

I have used a number of "Swiss Army Knife" type utility programs and found that Super Utilities can hold its own against most of them.

Like any program of this nature, it is able to do a lot of things adequately, but nothing excellently. That is the nature of the beast.

I bought this years ago and glad I did. One nice thing for me has been the lifetime upgrade policy.

If you can afford one utility program, consider this one. However, if you can afford a little more, I suggest picking up a good spy-ware watcher, a good system washer, and RegOrganizer (which does a great job with registry cleaning, start-up management and uninstalling programs).

  4. Review - PowerPro

    4.7 (Jan 5, 2008)

I have been using this program since the days that it was a shareware program called Stiletto. Bruce Switzer has continued to upgrade and enhance it, even though it is now freeware. He is also available for support through the user forum.

Power Pro is, without question, one of the most valuable and useful programs I have. From start up to shut down, it is constantly running on my system.

This is a Swiss army knife that does everything and does it well (program launcher, macros, sticky notes, alarms, reminders, shut-down, system stats, hot keys, dialog enhancement, navigation and more) If a person learns how to use this, it will save all sorts of time. It will also save the expense of purchasing other programs that can only do one thing.

Warning: this program works "as-is" but the real value of it will only be found in learning it and shaping the menus, bars, reminders, etc. to suit your own needs. Once you do it, you won't want to give it up.

  5. Review - Directory Opus

    9.0.0.0 (Dec 29, 2007)

In my search for a decent file manager, I tried several: Total Commander, xplorer2, ztree, power desk to name a few. They were all okay... but they all had their pros and cons.

I also tried Directory Opus. When I loaded it and saw the price I initially thought that I would not buy it. However, after I tried it and used it, I became absolutely sold on it.

I purchased it and am glad I did. It is worth the price(if you do more than copy and erase letters on your computer). Since purchasing it, I have come to like it even more!

Just the best in its class.
