  1. Review - Norton AntiVirus

    2008 (15.0.0.58) (Aug 29, 2007)

The 2008 line cut the resource use dramatically. This is one of the most efficient versions I've seen Symantec release in years. If you haven't tried it, stop knocking it.

  2. Review - Norton Removal Tool for Windows 2000/XP/Vista

    2008.0.0.21 (Jul 20, 2007)

Have any of you actually tried recent editions of Norton products? The 2007 line was completely redone and is a nice set of tools. From the looks of the 2008 public beta, the 2008 line will be even better.

  3. Review - Skype for Mac OS X

    2.6.0.140 (Jun 13, 2007)

I think this is a typo. According to Skype's web site, Skype for Mac OS X is still on 2.6, not 4.6.

  4. Review - Norton Internet Security

    2007 Beta (10.0.0.1) (Jan 16, 2007)

Have you even tried the 2007 version? It's been completely redesigned from the ground up. Performance is greatly improved and many enhancements have been made to the product.

  5. Review - Forecastfox

    0.8.2.2 (Sep 28, 2005)

I liked this extension until it switched to accuweather. I have found that accuweather is very inaccurate. With the accuweather feed in forecastfox, it tells me that there's thunderstorms when it's a perfectly clear day. It also tells me that it's sunny at 11pm (when it has been dark for hours). And I did have the right city selected. I wrote to the autor and asked if they could have the feed be user selectable (weather.com or accuweather.com) and he said he would see what they could do. I have since switched to 1-ClickWeather as my weather extension in firefox which is just as good if not better. Check it out if you prefer decent weather reporting from weather.com

  6. Comment - Symantec launches Norton Security 10 and Quorum technology

    0.8.2.2 (Sep 11, 2009 - 12:26 AM)

I believe you mean Norton Internet Security 2010 and Norton AntiVirus 2010. In terms of versioning, NIS 2010 is actually NIS 17, not 10.

  7. Comment - Mozilla releases second round of Firefox 3.5 bug fixes

    0.8.2.2 (Aug 5, 2009 - 12:05 AM)

This build (3.5.2) seems to be problematic. As with other users on here, FF is randomly and frequently crashing on me.

  8. Comment - Symantec goes live with Norton 2010 betas

    0.8.2.2 (Jul 6, 2009 - 11:38 PM)

This is resolved in newer builds of Win7

  9. Comment - Disgruntled IT guy fells blogging site

    0.8.2.2 (Jan 5, 2009 - 11:56 PM)

I've got an OS X server box running and it's a pretty rock solid machine. Those with hate for OS X typically haven't even given it a shot - they just like to flame cause they have nothing better to do with their time.

  10. Comment - Belkin says 'Switch to Mac'

    0.8.2.2 (Nov 12, 2008 - 9:29 PM)

I love using APC for my UPS's, but I don't think they make computers.
