  1. Review - Mozilla Firefox (v3.5) for Windows

    3.1 Beta 3 (Mar 16, 2009)

While Firefox 3.0.7 rarely seemed slow to me, I've noticed an improvement in 3.1b3 when loading just about any web site. Also privacy mode does exactly what the name suggests, allowing the user to browse without concern for cookies or history. Another nice new feature is the ability to clear browsing history for a limited time frame, ie the past hour.

So far I have yet to encounter any glitches or crashes while using this build, a definite improvement over 3.1b2, which had several issues finally resulting in me reverting back to 3.0.x.

With the constantly improving (and already great) browser from Mozilla paired with AdBlock and NoScript, I can't think of a single reason to use another browser.

  2. Review - CCleaner

    1.36.430 (Dec 18, 2006)

This program has always worked flawlessly on my various computers, never causing me any headaches when running the registry cleaner, and best of all it's free!

  3. Review - Miranda IM

    0.5 (Jul 28, 2006)

As light on system resources as ever, the interface is much improved with clist_modern, and ultimately the best (and most configurable) Multi-Network IM client out there.

  4. Review - K-Lite Mega Codec Pack

    1.55 (Jul 27, 2006)

I've yet to experience a single problem with this Codec pack now after years of using it.

I do wish they had incorporated these changes into 1.54 as I *just* finished downloading it, but I really can't complain, as any update so far has been a welcome one.

  5. Review - Miranda IM

    0.5 Test Build 60 (Jul 10, 2006)

I've been using Miranda IM ever since I got tired of Trillian hogging all of my resources. It's a great little program that is hugely customizable, and it seems to just get better with every new build.

  6. Comment - Dear AT&T: Don't let Apple make you look bad any more

    0.5 Test Build 60 (Sep 11, 2009 - 3:23 PM)

Sorry, when did AT&T/Cingular have a good reputation?

  7. Comment - The wireless carrier conundrum: Perpetuating the myth of connectivity

    0.5 Test Build 60 (Sep 11, 2009 - 1:49 PM)

Personally I'd be happy if I could just get reliable voice service in Los Angeles. Forget 3G, I can live without email while I'm on the road, it's the dropped calls and poor signal I can't stomach.

  8. Comment - Toshiba's $249 Blu-ray player vs. $299 PS3: The choice is obvious

    0.5 Test Build 60 (Sep 3, 2009 - 8:27 PM)

This, I saw a blu-ray player at WalMart today for nearly $400 only 2 aisles away from the $299 PS3 Slim. Some people (myself not included) don't want a console, and still others will buy whatever is cheapest (regardless of features).

  9. Comment - Google calls Gmail outage 'minor issue', but thousands beg to differ

    0.5 Test Build 60 (Sep 1, 2009 - 5:59 PM)

Ehh, servers go down, even production servers. If something is mission critical, you can choose to host it yourself, that just means you'll have a face to vent your anger to when it goes down. A company can live without email for an hour or 2, that's what telephones are for.

  10. Comment - Apple: If an iPhone cracks or overheats, that's your problem

    0.5 Test Build 60 (Aug 28, 2009 - 12:26 PM)

"it added that anyone who finds herself with a cracked iPhone needs to look into the mirror for the cause"

Apparently it's only females reporting cracked iPhones? If they are anything like my wife it will have been from dropping it...
