    a lot of ppl say, thats winamp is bloated. maybe they're right or maybe not. it has everything that media player should have IMHO. but most of those ppl haven't even tried other media players than winamp, windowsMP, apple/real (oh, come on, those two are crap!). i've been using winamp for years, and when i found QMP (quinntesential media player), then after three days of using i deleted winamp once and forever :) because it's SO MUCH intuitive, fast, nice, feature complete. i'd recommend it to everyone, who is a little bit bored with winamp or just want more from his mp3s

    winamp has better sound quality? buahahaa
    in plain version BOTH programs use XING mp3 decoding library... so the output quality is THE SAME!
    BUT qmp with BASS plugin decodes mp3 with bass library, which is far more accurate as it uses 32 bit resolution for decoding.
    the same thing is with foobar maniacs - even author claims the sound quality is not better than winamp or qmp, yet the fanatics know better...

    i still rate avant with 4, because it's hard not to appreciate the work that has been done on it.

    pyridox: i disagree that Avant is an alternative. i would consider it as an natural evolvement of IE, as in fact is just an upgrade to IE engine. microsoft was to lazy to do such an upgrade, so here we have - Avant.

    one more thing - IE is not compatibile with standards! avant is not as well. personally, if i was made to use an IE based browser, I would choose maxthon... anyway, all IE browsers have the same issue : security. theres no word about it.
